I've got an idea, glenn. Wrap your lips around my muffler and suck real hard while I gun the gas. That'll prove your point.

I was going to suggest he fill a room with good old CO2, step into it, and see how long he lasts. I'm willing to bet, it would not be long.

Jeez this guy is dumber than a box of hammers.

Some facts for our factually-challenged right-wingers:

CO2 is toxic in higher concentrations: 1% (10,000 ppm) will make some people feel drowsy. Concentrations of 7% to 10% cause dizziness, headache, visual and hearing dysfunction, and unconsciousness within a few minutes to an hour.

exactly. When someone starts his car in a closed garage to commit suicide, what exactly do these morons think killed the guy? The tire iron?

Well, in your example there's Carbon MONOxide as well.  That will get you quicker.

Also when you read up on Venus you find that its atmosphere is mostly CO2. It is very hot and very poisonous.

Yet another example of Beck's major malfunction; he simply does not know the meaning of many of the words he uses.

Quite amazing how conservatives take pride in being ignorant. This guy has not even been to college and he considers himself to be an expert on this topic (or any other topic, for that matter).

You have to see the transparent effort of what this guy, and several others of late, are doing when they launch into an argument about CO2: they're distracting the debate away from TAILPIPE EMISSIONS, which is in truth both the thing that threatens our atmosphere, and the thing we can REGULATE... TAILPIPE EMISSIONS!

These people are as easy to see through as Granny's underwear: they're drawing you off into an obscure argument about CO2, when in fact it's all about TAILPIPE EMISSIONS, and the REGULATION thereof.

Well, before the last few days I had never heard anyone warn about carbon dioxide as a major threat either. Has the concentration of it in the air we breath really increased so much it's time to worry about it?

The stuff you guys are mentioning is carbon monoxide.

This anti-Earth Day from Beck is really moronic and childish. Say what you want about Earth Day (personally I won't do anything special that day), but this whole thing he is doing is ridiculous.

      Everything is a poison.

The important variable is the level of toxicity.

Pure oxygen(95-100% of volume) will kill you.

CO2 needs to be about 7-10% to be deadly.

Some elements only need to be 5ppm to be toxic.

Yep, water can be a poison, too (As in the case of that poor woman in the holding-in-pee contest a few years ago). Is Beck really that ignorant, or is he being deliberately obtuse?

Anything can be a poison, Glenn.  Case in point: your ignorance has a lethal dosage of 2 ppm to lab rats.  Amazing your listeners aren't all dead.

Astonishing that anyone takes this seriously, they guy has no scientific credentials at all. I doubt he even has the ability to access one of the hundreds of scientific papers putting human caused climate change beyond reasonable doubt. 'How can anyone claim that CO2 is a poison when trees need it to live' such stupidity, i can only stand in awe.
