Limbaugh conspiracy theory: flu issue is "designed to get people to respond to government orders"

Geez.....wingnuts been saving up all this nonsense that they would have liked to say about Bush ?

MM wrong again.  Limbaugh is saying that the government response to the influenza is what is designed to get people used to accepting the federal government taking charge in a supposed emergency.  This fits in with his belief that Barak Obama intends to oportunistically use every crisis he can as a means of increasing federal size and authority in order to overwhelm the diversity that our states system provides and create a politically homogenous nation in which planning and direction can be carried on at a national level. 

A hallmark of the type of socialism Limbaugh believes Obama is trying to push us into is that central government takes on the planning role and distribution of resources.  Business and local government are allowed to still function, but the federal government can control them when it wishes.  This is different from our current system in which business and local government operate indepndently of the federal government and have their own realms of authority over which the federal government has no power except in declared emergencies.

Limbaugh also asks: "At any one time, how many people in this country have the flu? I mean the flu's a common thing."

Idiot.  When public health professionals speak of influenza, they don't mean a slightly more annoying form of the common cold.  They mean a potentially fatal viral infection that's extremely difficult to combat in individuals and to prevent from spreading among the population at large.

The influenza virus is difficult to counter because it rapidly mutates, which making the use of vaccines more challenging.

In addition, the influenza virus is especially dangerous when it mutates as it passes between species -- say from a bird to a pig to a human.  What might have been a minor inconvenience for the human, or something that had no effect at all if he'd contracted it from the bird becomes potentially fatal by passing from one species to another.

One of the best books on the subject is "The Great Influenza" by John M. Barry, which chronicles the influenza epidemic of 1918, which Barry rightly calls the deadliest plague in history, and the ongoing effort of governments and others in "the establishment" to cover up the cause and effect of this epidemic.

MM slightly misinterpreted what rush meant though they were pretty close. rush was saying that Obama is going to use tragedy and panic to grab power which in borderline insanity.....How can you grab for power when you

1)doing what you're suppose to do....it's why we pay taxes

2) The state governments are asking for his help. The same ones who have  your backwards view that the state government is suppose to take care of that.

3)The same successionist  people that thinks government is bad suddenly see it's importance when their butt is on the line. (Obama is right)

 Also ewl you said it perfectly. The government has power in emergency.....I think financial collapse and an epidemic counts as an emergency. Until Obama picks GM and says hes forcing all other car makers to cease sales please don't get the nuts all excited thinking you proved a point about Obama and socialism.

To end rush is ignorant and not many things register with him....it's obvious because hes still stuck on childish mockings of Barney Frank's voice....it gets old and hateful just like rush's fan base. Think about it. He's too ignorant to get global warming because he can't get past that the name doesn't explain the whole process. He needs it to be called "heat melty, make coldy, weather crazy."  He should have looked at Future Earth instead of getting bored because he didn't see drugs or guns.
