Limbaugh: Swine flu "is out there" "to cover up the mess that is the United States of America right now"

I see the pig is at it again.

Truly, what we're seeing now in the 'punditocracy' on cable television political commentary shows, and otherwise in the general Republican media, is a hog wild obsession with anything and everything that's not current and important National Policy, or Public Policy. 

True, right know is as important a time as there ever was in recent memory, for substantial action and talk going on in D.C.:

There's the regulation of our robbed financial system, and Congress having just last week returned from their recess, then (last week) and now and for the foreseeable future, they have begun and will continue work on that all-important issue. 

The same is true of emissions regulation, and also public health insurance (and that's going to be fascinating to see how far that will go, and the fight against it), and there's not only IRAQ but the future of the mission in Afghanistan... 

All of that is RIGHT NOW, it's on the menu and being served up RIGHT NOW! 

And truly, there is at present a single standing order and a singular strategy, among the Republican media and the cable television hacks: 

DISTRACT from what's going on!  IGNORE it!  PRATTLE and CHATTER about anything and everything, but stay away from the current and historic happenings in D.C. RIGHT NOW! 

Please don't misunderstand me: this is not actually a complaint, but instead it's an identification of what's truly happening... this is their strategy at the moment!  

They (Republicans) have already lost too much political capital with the American People, and they can't afford to lose much more (as just how much more do they have to lose anyway?)  

And yet they can't really stop the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress from doing the historic things they are going to do, and are beginning to do RIGHT NOW! 

But by golly, they can sure DISTRACT from and IGNORE these historic things, can't they?  

I mean, the Republican media isn't just going to stand idly by, while President Obama and the Democratic Congress do these important and historic things (like regulate our robbed financial sytem and maybe even expand public health insurance), those media hacks aren't going to stand by while all this happens, are they, stand idly by while President Obama works a greater and greater reputation with the American People! 

Heck no those hacks aren't just going to stand around for this... neither are they going to address these historic happenings in Congress and in D.C., happening RIGHT NOW!    

And so this is what we're getting from cable and the Republican media, non-stop swine flu and non-stop "torture memos" and who knows what else... 

And by the way, you already saw this when President Obama attended the G-20 Summit in London: there the talk was all about the regulation of the robbed financial system, particularly on Wall Street... and what did the Republican media prattle and chatter about non-stop?  An iPod!  And Mrs. Obama touched the Queen!  And what was she wearing!  And do the President and his wife have "star power" and aren't they the World's Greatest Celebrities! 

Anything and everything except the actual substance of the G-20 meetings, which of course was mostly about regulating our robbed financial system. 

Again, it's not really a complaint, it's just the truth about what's going on in the Republican media (swine flu and "torture memos" and who knows what's next), versus the truly historic things being done in Congress and by the Obama administration, and being done RIGHT NOW!

 

If the US is a "mess" right now the blame is at the feet of Dubya, not Obama.
