Just wondering: why is OK for right-wing talkers to call Liberals and Dems Nazis, terrorists, socialists, communists, baby-killers, etc etc. and not over the line?

But calling Mexicans horrible names is over the line?

Huh?  Who said it's OK?!  It's not.  It's unprofessional, child-like, cafeteria/school-yard bully-style thuggery.  It's knucledragging neanderthalism, and anyone who can;t see that is a moron.  So... what's you're point again?

"Right wing host suspended" from the chyron on this clip. He was suspended because of his comments about Mexicans and the H1N1 flu.

I thought it was odd because radio stations allow all kinds of hatred and horrible rhetoric to fly through their air waves every day.

But when this comment about Mexicans was made, then it was time to suspend the guy.

I find it hypocritical that a station allows a certain kind of hatred and inciteful rhetoric but not another.

      mk3872,

I'm going to guess that the guy that got suspended simply does not have the listener ship or large enough contract, or lawyer friends available that can come to his rescue... or he happily is accepting his suspension for the greater good of the spread of all the hate, vile, and nastiness from the right-wing...

Boortz, Savage, and Limbaugh sadly have many millions of listeners... so it is improbable but not impossible to suspend them for their obvious hate.

Personally, I think he is nothing more than a fall guy so that the right-wing can claim they are fair and balanced so that they can claim... "See, we suspended a guy that spread hate" while allowing the big boys to remain on the air untouched.

But then again... I'm only reading tea leaves...

My workplace has put "Please Wash Hands" signs in all the restrooms on the big mirrors above all the sinks. Someone got really upset at another person for coughing and not covering his mouth the other day. I have seen near-panic and quite a bit of fear recently. These people blaming illegal immigrants and trying to incite more fear and panic should be ashamed of themselves. It's yet another example of those on the right trying to incite fear, just like they did after 9/11 and are doing now with saying or implying that Obama will take away their guns.

Savage received his PhD from UC Berkeley in Epidemiology and Human Nutrition.  He is a bonified expert in this field.  However, you don't need to have a doctorate in epidemiology to understand that allowing uncontrolled mass immigration of third world peasants from countries with a high incidence of infectious diseases will expose the US population to risk.  100 years ago, there was a system - immigrants with diseases were sent back to their country of origin or at least quaranteened.

Everything about your reich-wing hero is a lie including name and false claims that he has a degree in Epidemiology.

Michael Savage, whose real name is Michael Alan Weiner, has a nationally syndicated AM radio talk show called Savage Nation. He has also written columns for NewsMax.com and WorldNetDaily. Newsmax[1] incorrectly lists Savage's Ph.D. as being in the field of Epidemiology and Nutrition Science, although Michael Savage claims that his Ph.D. is in the field of Nutritional Ethnomedicine. A search of UC Berkeley's Library Pathfinder GLADIS Database, In fact, states that it was in the field of Nutritional Ethnomedicine. [2]

His doctoral dissertation at U.C. Berkeley was titled, “Nutritional Ethnomedicine in Fiji.”  Pehaps, that's the source of your confusion.

His PhD is in Epidemiology and Nutrition Science as per his website, www.michaelsavage.com

this is an exaple of the nafta bill. greed is the bottom line here. american companies have left this country to go to other countries where the cost of doing business is alot less than it is in america. american businesses are regulated by agencies like the epa, irs, and state and federal laws. in mexico, this is not the case. the workers are treated unfairly, and there are not laws to prevent american companies from doing what they want to protect their bottom line. this flu epidemic is the result of greed, and lack of regulation. nafta is bad for america, and the world. lets get together and raise our food in america once again.
