Someone finally has said this. Barnicle, I hope you are prepared for the hatred to come in your direction. Before 3:00pm today, your wife will also be vilified. And this will be done by the "Talkers" who should consider your words as a complement. It should get them more advertising dollars. But wait and see.

Much credit needs to go to MMFA for helping shine a light on the hateful rhetoric in talk radio. Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, et al., have done more to damage the GOP's brand than any other force in the political arena. The more they run-off at the mouth, the more people run away from the GOP.

And as much as I love the damage they're doing doing to a now disfunctional party, they have also damaged AMERICA. They have turned (in the minds of many) discent into treason (at least until the other guy gets elected), ingnorance into virtue, knowledge into a liability, and as they continually cause more damaged to the republican party, they are being sure that the Democrats will soon have little or no opposition at all in the near future. And THAT is NOT a good situation.

Mr.Barnicle makes a valid point. Right wing radio is led by people like Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck. They are nothing but Klansman in suits.

The G.O.P. will never gain repect of the new America until someone in their party has the courage to stand up to Limbaugh and Fox news.

The signs at the Tea parties against Obama have never been denounced by Fox news and some had racist overtones.

Fox anchors who are also radio people sponsored the event and several G.O.P. leaders were speakers.

The maintsream media should challenge Murdoch to justify why he sponsored such an event.

The reality is that the base of talk radio is mostly older demographics who will be shrinking in time. The new media like internet newspapers, blogs, twitter, facebook and various forms of internet communication will only grow in time. I think the Republican party realizes this and are trying to adapt but the problem is it's a 2-way communication platform that requires constant debate and investigation, so they will have a hard time spinning their stories to the public in favor of their ideology.

And that's good news for democracy!:)

I was with Mike til he got to the part when he said; "Most normal Americans..."

When you launch off into statements like that, you are no better than Palin and Pfothenhaur making talk about Real/Fake America or Real/Fake Virgina.

      Yep.

Right wing radio and Faux News made things easy for Bush; had Nixon had the current media make-up he would not have resigned.

The media mix of the right wing is meant to hold the base and muddy debate. Just like global warming and tax cuts for the rich, etc.
