      Is it possible, just POSSIBLE, that there might be a qualified woman or minority who's deserving of the appointment on merit?

      Aren't these three qualified to serve?

      How about this one, who was appointed a federal court judge by President George H.W. Bush?

      How about this one?

      Isn't it strange that Matthews and the conservative spin machine are already opposed to Obama's nominee, even though the nominee hasn't even been selected yet?

      Bill Maher had it right last week when he said "Republicans say that Obama's pick for Supreme Court Justice is completely unacceptable and they will let us know why as soon as they know who it is."

        Old fishlips is a bigot and a dunce. I'm amazed that his in-studio guests don't all wear raincoats or protective masks to shield themselves from all the spittle that goes flying EVERY TIME he uses the letter "P"

      I have to agree. Obama will pick a latino/latina for no reason other than he needing their votes PLUS the fact that latinos/latinas would fill a "void". They can be as dumb as a sign-post for all he cares. The Republican's did the same thing when they chose Clarence Thomas. Politics.

        So far, Obama's picks for his cabinet posts have been competent and qualified. I think the same pattern will hold for his Supreme Court pick(s).

        George W Bush's picks? "Brownie (who was incompetent to head and was fired from an organization that judged Arabian horse shows, and was subsequently picked to be in charge of FEMA), you're doin' a hell of a job!"
