"Everything your parents says is good for you, is bad for you...sunshine, red meat, college." ~ Woody Allen.

Grow up Becksie. College doesn't mean anything, it's just what the individual does with it.

Speaking of meaningless, if the shoes fits...

Good god... what is it with these lunatic right-wing pigs??

Education, like health care should be free and accessible to anyone that wants it!

Will everyone take up on it... of course not, but it should be there for anyone that wants it.

Why, you might ask? Well, if I'm sick with no insurance, I'm going to stay home and hope for the best, with universal access to health care, I'll certainly go to the doctor to find out the extent of my health or lack there of...

Same as with college. If I choose to get a higher education to be a teacher or doctor, it should be available.

Health care and education are two things that should not be out of reach for anyone simply because that someone is poor.

      Glen Beck is a putz!

        And another thing...

The guy Beck brings on... is from the Ayn Rand think tank...

This alone stripes away any possible respect or legitimacy in the argument made by Glen and this guy Harry!

As for the National Service Obama speaks of... IT IS VOLUNTEERING!!

Notice though... the two twits are berating a college education! They are totally and unequivocally insulting the intelligence of every single one of Beck watchers.

This is outright lying and despicable on both their part!

I think they're actually courting them. "Hey, you didn't get a college education, but you know what, that just means you didn't deserve it!"

You know things are pretty sick in this country when people deny the value of a college education. That's just one step away from denying the opportunity for one.

These guys really are determined to propel us back to the 19th Century, aren't they?

"we're making it so easy to get"

Well, you would know wouldn't you, Glenn? Having dropped out of Yale after attending one class, I guess no one would know better than you how "easy" it is to earn a degree.

"everybody can have a free education, it's meaningless to a lot of people"

Especially those meaningless employers who meaninglessly look for it on meaningless resumes.

Is there really no way to stop this kind of clearly fake "news" from being put on the air?

I mean, nothing could be further from the truth then this kind of ridiculous banter.

      It is dangerous.

Yes, Beck. Education is a scam. I mean, who needs to learn stuff? You certainly didn't need any college classes to learn how to rant into a microphone like a raving lunatic.

Notice how the Ayn Rand guy threw in that maybe you'll be required to vote for the Democratic party in exchange for a loan.

They're very threatened at the idea of opening up higher education to more people. Or should I say opening it up to the "wrong" people. That is, people who aren't white Republicans with money.

They want to control who goes to college, who has opportunity, who gets ahead, and they want to make sure there's a substantial underclass driving their cars and cleaning their houses and watching their kids. Uneducated people with few choices so they don't make too much trouble, don't ask for too much money, don't expect too much, are grateful just to have any job.

      These people make me sick.

Don't worry, Beck. You're all the proof we need that willful ignorance will never go extinct.

I would love to go to college. I can't even afford community college, my husband and I make "too much" for me to get a grant. Beck can shove his beliefs straight up his holy high-horse.

Yes, God knows it's meaningless to all those Europeans that have tax-payer funded college educations and then come over here to do research and work. I'm sure they'd be much happier if only it had been harder to get a good education and a great job. And I'm sure they absolutely hate the fact that their US counterparts are up to their knees in loans, I mean, that must just be unbearable to know that they got their own education virtually for free while the Americans had to EARN it.

The right-wingers never cease to amaze me with their class rhetoric.

A grant is given. We are being dumb-downed and enslaved by debt.
To be fair, Joseph Stalin, Russia, killed off intellectuals and scholars. That was communism. Fair? What Congress, well those that own them, is doing is fascist. Corporatist, is a facet of fascism. Look it UP! We are entertained by Fox News and whatever personal item, while everything remains the same, or worsens.
That is, so last century. We know, now what? Question authority, expect results and Vote!

It's a vicious cycle of elitism. You shouldn't only have a good education if your parents are rich. That's ridiculous.

The Ayn Rand Institute? How crazy can you be?

So Beck is pretty much openly saying that acquiring knowledge and critical thinking skills are bad things. I guess he is looking to keep the ignorant and foolish as his base.
