Cheney sides with a drug addict merchant of hate and lies over a retired general. What a typical anti-American teabag waving reich-winger.

I think it more likely that Darth Cheney is motivated by a desire to keep his rich old a$$ out of prison.

After all, he's got billions to spend and just a few short years to do it.

Yes, he wants to be perceived as defending the whole circle at the White House and Justice that acted as his torture enablers, so they won't turn and point the finger back in his direction.

That, and I swear he sees himself as the Nicholson character in "A Few Good Men."

"You WANT me on that wall," he snarled.

Of course. If the Justice Department starts to squeeze some of these guys, who knows what kind of skeletons may come tumbling out of the closet.

Personally, I want to hear more about the report that they waterboarded one suspect repeatedly, trying to get him to confirm a link between Saddam and 9/11. That's where I think the real story is. They were on a fishing expedition, and history has proven that torture is the best way to elicit a false confession.

Oddly enough, a fictional movie plot based on something at GitMo.

How much does Dick Cheney love his country? When his country asked him to serve, he said (to paraphrase) "No thanks, I have other priorities, please give me 5 deferments so I can finish college in 6 years."

In 1979, he voted against making MLK day a holiday, but did correct his mistake in 1983. He continuously told the American people there was a link between Al Qaeda and Iraq even after the 9/11 Commission refuted it.

He often criticized war critics, calling them “opportunists” who were peddling “cynical and pernicious falsehoods” to gain political advantage while U.S. soldiers died in Iraq. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10078197/)

He played a prominent role in releasing Plame's name even though his former boss, elder Bush, called few things worse than this.

There are other numerous examples of how Cheney "loves" this country, but why does he make more media appearances now than he ever did as VP?

Well, he did try real hard to steal Iraq's oil for American Oil Companies. Does that count as "love"?

Of course. It couldn't have anything to do with saving his own ass.

This is hilarious. I flipped over to the Oxymoron's show this morning, and I missed this bit, but caught a caller to the show that must have been immediately after this. He basically repeated exactly what Rush said here, even teasing it a little with "There's one word... a four letter word... an 'L' word.."

I was entertained enough just by the call. It was one of those examples of how different the brain activity of the far right is from normal humans, and that's a good feeling.Dick Cheney and love in the same sentence is just surreal.

But finding out that the dependable dittohead actually called in to repeat what he had just been told makes it even better. It's like they think they're having original thoughts.

This is an interesting special purpose they've found for Old Dick, though, trotting around the chat shows offering "impartial analysis" of the Obama administration.

Are there actually people out there gullible enough to swallow this? That, since Dick isn't running for office, he's completely detached from the GOP machine, and has no interest in continuing the Conservative business0as0usual?

I suppose the same people who believed he had no financial interest in war once he publicly relieved himself of his war profiteer stocks.

It's not just the dittoheads repeating Rushbo's laughable explanation of Cheney's motives. Here's Richard Cohen in the WaPo today: "In political terms, Cheney has been a free man ever since he eschewed any presidential ambitions. [...] He says the issues are too important for him to be, as is traditional, mum." Read the whole thing, it's quite a disgusting display of Beltway gibberish.

So, hatred against Obama is "love for the country" but hatred against Bush was "un-American".

      I see...
