When did ACORN become a militant angry death dealing organization? That would be, well, never Glenn. You're an idiot. ACORN does good work out there for lower income folks. It's just you're too stupid to see it.

And once again, they did not commit voter registration fraud. Someone or some people working for them did, meaning, those folks were prosecuted to the full extent of the law, most of the time with ACORN's help. And to dispel another rumor, ACORN does not receive federal funding of any sort.

          And you fail...

In the Townhall thing, it even says that ACORN affiliates, as in, NOT ACORN, received 31 million. Again, ACORN does not receive federal funding.

And the Glenn Beck thing, there's nothing there.

          Try again.

The board members themselves say so. And as it was pointed out, crooks are frequently very clever in the way they go about their deception. The way they launder money would make Tony Soprano proud.

              Does ACORN Recieve Federal Funding?

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now does not apply for nor does it receive any federal grants.

ACORN has had contracts with other nonprofit organizations to perform work on projects which received federal grant support. For example, ACORN has received contracts to:

Identify families eligible to receive food stamps and assist them to apply.
Identify homeowners facing foreclosure and deliver them for housing counseling and loss mitigation services.
Provide lead paint remediation services to households with children living in older neighborhoods.
The contracts that ACORN receives on these projects are for delivering specific activities, all of which are tax-exempt qualified in accordance with federal grant guidelines. No payments are received until work product has been delivered.

None of ACORN's contracts to perform work on projects receiving federal grant money has provided funding for voter registration.

So ACORN works with OTHER non profits that get grants and to specific jobs. As cited by the above poster they get money from AFFILIATES who have federal grants which THEY DO NOT APPLY FOR. So the argument is semantic. Most organizations and a large percentage of businesses get federal funds if you define it as any federal money as a subcontracter. What is REALLY at issue though is are THEY going to try to get federal STIMULUS MONEY and they have said they are NOT putting in for any. Not that there is any reason they shouldnt your earlier characterization of them as criminal and like the MOB is just silly

"...crooks are frequently very clever in the way they go about their deception."

Is that logic reversable? Are people that are clever about the way they deceive crooks? Because that would make Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh crooks.

All 3 links support the fact that acorn has been receiving federal funds, which is what the poster denied this time and many times in the past, perhaps you did not take the time to read the posting I was responding to, very sad indeed.

All three links do nothing of the sort. Every one refutes your statement, as does the link made above to ACORN's own site.

              Very sad, indeed.

Any organization in bed with the SEIU is suspect. I was once "forced" to pay fees or to donate to a charitable instituiton of the locals "choice". This meant no religious organizations. The leader of the SEIU, Andrew Stern is a self admitted marxist. He has no regard for the individuals whose money is extorted to pay for his lifestyle. When the State employees of Maine were at the point where they would be fired for not paying up, another marxist, communist or idiot who thought he knew better, Ethan Strimling got legislation passed to take the money from employees pay check without them signing an authorization to do so. Maine is going down the tubes anyway but a lot quicker now with a liberal as governor and the MSEA-SEIU as a bedfellow. ACORN is all about taking from those who earned the money and giving it to those who didn't work for it. The SEIU is the same. Thank God for people like Glen Beck who can get the truth out.

i assume mr. beck's ratings are nose diving, hence the transparently desperate attempt to seem relevant. not that his disappearance would be a great loss to humankind, but i seriously doubt he's in any danger, other than that of being cancelled.

Talk about stroking your own ego. Glenn, if ACORN was to start whacking people, I'm guessing they would start with someone that MATTERS! You are so far down the list that the Pope will get in a car accident before you, and he does not even know ACORN exists. You don't matter, you can spew your demented fantasies of hate and violence all day every day, won't change anything.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. This isn't so much about what an evil organization ACORN is. It's about what a brave, hornorable person Glenn Beck is to stand up to them. You're a real hero Glenn. I'm getting a little misty just thinking about how much you sacrifice for the country you love.

The biggest problem the right will have in trying to make a comeback is overcoming the revulsion normal people have to this kind of retoric. Just because you disagree with an organization, it does not automatically make it into some kind of covert killing machine. Even stupid people know this.
