I was so gld that Krista came on. All morning that idiot Scarborough has been hammering Pelosi but has not once mentioned the report by former NBC news producer which stated that Cheney's office was where the order to use waterboarding came from. Scarborough has repreatedly said that the CIA doesn't lie. He can't understand why the Pelosi story is not on the front page of the Times and several other newspapers. It's because that's not the story here. They'd like to move this torture story over to Pelosi but it was the BUSH ADMINISTRATION who ordered and implemented this program. I can't stand that moron Scarborough.

      Finally... somebody states the obvious.

I saw part of this today. Seems that Joe and his munchkins kind of ignored her point and continued to gloat over the sins of Nancy Pelosi.

I must admit that the Republicans have played this masterfully, and Pelosi, much like Bill Clinton, has made it easy for them.

They have managed to turn a debate about Republican law-breaking into a debate over whether Pelosi knew they were breaking the law. They have heaped their guilt on her for not stopping them. Now she's called the CIA liars, and the whole thing is likely to get very ugly.

The sad thing is that this forestalls any accountability on the part of the Bush Administration for its myriad crimes. The rest of Obama's first term will be eaten away with hearings on what Nancy Pelosi did or didn't know, and the real crooks will skate.

Karl Rove will never have to answer for his tampering with the Justice Department; Darth Cheney and his henchmen will never have to answer for the thousands killed needlessly in Iraq, and Numbnuts Bush will never have to answer for anything.

I am sure the Republicans think they have played this masterfully. They are trying to create a controversy and change the subject to the credibility of Pelosi, which they are trying to undermine in every way they can, fairly or not. But I am not sure the truth is on their side.

To me, they look desperate. And Rove practically admitted that waterboarding is a crime, which Bush/Cheney had expended much time and energy denying.

They sure are getting a lot of help from that "liberal" press, aren't they?

I agree that truth is probably not on their side... it seldom is. However, they seem to play the Media much better than the Democrats do.

I hope they overplay this Pelosi thing and it blows up in their faces. How delicious that would be.

When you own the media, you don't have to play them. They already know what pleases and displeases the bosses, and don't have to be told what not to say.

Firstly, Americans have always extended an "implied" approval of the CIA's tactics as to how they keep us safe. We have never been in a postiton to question the means and intel of the United States government, and the government at this time should take a stand on debreifing media outlets. We don't debreif to our children. Why? Because some information is harmful or on a need to know basis. If this is media, then we are going to have to develop another form of informing that takes place over this forum of vocalizations. Editors should use their sense to encourage and discourage stories that may be too informative for the enemey. Never mind Nancy Pelosi and he said she said, what the heck are journalist amounting too when they can't create or follow other news interest? All of you all look ridiculous to surround this minute caravan.
Trust me, as well as this is an issue that has substance and relevance, it isn't being taken by the average American well when we evaluate you all.

This important news flash is directed to George Bush.
President Bush when crossing any T or dotting any I, be very careful because methinks that Cheney and KKKarl Rove are about to throw YOU under the next Congressional Hearing Bus that comes along. They are covering their behinds but not the Administrations'. On a personal level, George you better get hold of Daddy and his connections because Cheney is about to lower the hammer. Remember when YOU were elected to be the President but Dickie C. told you it wasn't really like that. He mentioned that the Constitution said everything had to go thru his office before it got to you., you know that "thing" that Constitution..Guess what, he probably was only TAKING orders from the Commander-in-Chief during wartime.
This news flash was present by the PRINCEOFPREDICTION.

P.S. To Fox News...when you cover this, remember where you heard it first.

Krista is absolutely right. The media is chasing the shallow shiny object of Pelosi and the nonsense about what did she know and when blah blah blah. Which is stupid because she really could not doing anything about it.
But, the gop knows how to manipulate the media. They know they are no longer the watchdogs who do hard news but, preening prima donas who are lazy and want the flashy shallow stories that mean nothing.
Diverting the attention of the media from the real issues of torture and The columns by Wilkerson and on the Daily beast to Pelosi was just so easy for the gop.
Democrats need to learn that the media has zero depth and is no longer the model of Woodward and Bernstein and Murrow but, more like Hollywood b-listers puffing around.
Besides, the real story about Cheney and torture require real work and the Pelosi one requires only speculation.
