1-20-09 to present: CIA leaks bad.
Doesn't it seem strange that we continue to obsess over this idiotic "torture memo" business (which has now morphed into an idiotic "torture briefing" business) on the very morning that Karl Rove is finally being subject to the investigation of the U.S. Attorney firings?
How can one noisy idiotic issue so cloud the radar screen, while the other issue just flies right under it?
I wish I had a sensible stick, so I could rap Democrats on the head with it.
And if this sounds off topic, and that in truth the subject here is "what did Nancy know and when did she know it", well then I guess I'm talking about "what do Democrats talk about, and why do they talk about it"... because it appears to me that Democrats are letting a lot of things just slide right by the boards, while this "torture memo" (and now "torture briefings") idiocy dominates our idiotic cable television talk... and I don't need to hear the wisdom cited, that we must dance to whatever tune it is that's playing: we can dance however we like, we don't need our movements dictated to us, we may dictate our own political discourse, we need not follow the discourse of others, when it is idiotic or perhaps even destructive...
Anyway, Karl Rove appears to be flying right under the radar this morning, and that seems a shame.
Sure, it's the media's fault for this, but then that just implies the media dictates our own words and thoughts: they don't, or at least they don't dictate my words and thoughts... which is why I choose to mention Karl Rove here this morning.
I've been yelling at the TV for days now... I think all this Nancy Pelosi stuff is a deliberate distraction. In fact, I think the whole waterboarding issue is a distraction.
I'm not saying that it shouldn't be investigated or prosecuted, but it should be encompassed into a broader investigation of Bush/Cheney's bigger crimes.... like invading Iraq and draining the treasury to make their Crony Contractors filthy rich.
You're also right about Karl Rove. I didn't see the whole show, so I have to wonder.... did Morning Joe's Munchkins even mention Karl? I seriously doubt it.
Whether you like Olbermann or not, he is an employee of MSNBC, and they pay him a sh*tload of money... so he's not likely to buck the system.
I've also never heard Joe take a shot at Olbermann, though I'm sure he disagrees with him on almost everything.
(Ancient clan war cry)
MSNBC may think that they've got a good thing going here-it's disciplined confusion. The question is. are they speaking for the network? If so, the stories they cover will mirror what they produce.
There are very credible reports on the Morning Joe show and independently, without the bulllying Old Boys Network approach from Joe, could bring the news very academically. Joe is paid to perform. Stop paying for this idiocy and you can open new avenues of thought. Satyrical News, hahahhaa!
