OT, but looks like the GOP rebranding paid off. 90% os self identified reichwingers now believe Obama is a socialist or marxist.

Of course, that means that 90% of the remaining 30% of hardcore radicals who in the latest gallup poll claim they are conservative republican believe it. AKA 27% of the country. Just thought I'd clear that up for the nuts who will undoubtedly think that poll somehow means a bigger number than it really is...

Specifically, they said they believe he's either socialist, communist, Marxist, or fascist. Or all four.

I love the last one. It's a delightful clinker.

Yes, Obama believes both in the government taking over the means of production, and the proletariat taking over the means of production, while all the time believing that the free market should decide in whose hands the means of production belong.

I love it when people who don't know what the words mean use them to call others names. The GOP is a bunch of sociopaths, and yes, I do know what that word means, and yes, the GOP fits the definition precisely.

The Cons are complaining that the Repubs aren't doing enough to push the Con con.
Again, to all you Cons who believe in yourselves, start your own party and be true to real conservatism.

I saw this segment, and Hayes sort of summed up my thoughts about Newt( as well as several other prominent GOP mouthpieces). What does he do, why is he considered credible, who is still listening to him?

Along with Bill Cristol, Dick Morris, Krauthammer, etc., newt is repeatedly wrong about just about everything, is documented in lies on a regular basis, and seems to have a flimsier grasp of reality with each passing day.et he seems to be on the tube anytime I turn it on.

I have to guess that the group of Americans who rely on the mainstream media of cable news and am radio are subsisting on the pap that Newt and his counterparts keep shoveling out, but it's hard to believe there's a long-term demand for this stuff. The audience, through old age, cirrhosis and walking out into traffic, has got to be shrinking rapidly..

But the media bosses are calling the shots. And he is a very useful economic royalist.

Yeah, Newt the Toot's the GOP "ideas guy" . . . he had the idea to shut down the government as speaker while throwing a tantrum at Bill Clinton . . .

And the reason for Newt's tantrum? He was asked to use a different door on Air Force One than the one the President uses, one that goes to the guest's section of the plane rather than to the President's quarters. Newt thought he was President, and should have used the same door. He wasn't, and never will be. The guest section will be the closest he ever gets to the President's quarters on AF1.
