Rumsfeld and Cheney were so mistrustful of the CIA that they set up a parallel intelligence apparatus in the Defense Department to give them more of what they wanted to hear.

Odd, indeed. Does anybody remember Marjorie Mylroie? She was a fire breathing NeoCon Troglodyte who was one of the biggest cheerleaders for invading Iraq.

She has now dropped off the radar screen, apparently discredited, but she was highly regarded by the Bushies at one time.

She wrote a book called Bush vs. the Beltway : How the CIA and the State Department Tried to Stop the War on Terror

That title is interesting for two reasons. First, it indicates the friction between the Bush administration and the CIA. Second, it indicates that not everybody in the intelligence community was convinced that Saddam was such a big threat, despite Republican myths to the contrary.

Did she go hunting with Cheney? Thanks for mentioning another must read on this site.

NERZOG, MYLROIE figured prominently in the book HUBRIS by MICHAL ISSIKOFF and DAVID CORN which was about the run up to the IRAQ WAR and the outing of VALERIE PLAME. I highly recommend it.

Cheney is guilty of running torture treatment on caputured terrorist.

Cheney has admitted his guilt on several occasions.

I think his attorney should tell him to stop incriminating himself.

Torture is against the law and Cheney knows he broke the law and could end up being indicted.

That is exactly why he is doing all this desperate blubbering. He can not speak without lying from beginning to end.

And that is exactly why the Republitoads are so desperately trying to keep the media spotlight on Nancy Pelosi. Even if Pelosi is guilty of everything they say she is, it still pales in comparison to the crimes of Bush/Cheney.
