If a Democrat used the media over and over to convey to the world that the US is the least safe that it's been since 9/11, the Republicans would most certainly be calling it traitorous. The Cheneys want the city where I work to get attacked again. They can go to hell.

Cheney is using the same propoganda crap that he used throughout bush's eight years.......according to gwbush, you have to state an idea over and over again for the people to believe it. In cheney's case he is repeating lies over and over again and the wingnuts are believing it. This is nothing but the cheney revisionist history tour.
(and the cheney minime - liz cheney, is even more disturbing)

"...in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously." ~ Adolph Hitler

That's why enough morons in this country believed that Iraq was involved in 9-11.
Thank you US media for playing into the hands of the worst of propagandists!

I think several of us predicted this. Nothing clairvoyant about it... we just know, through observation, what sniveling hypocrites the Republicans tend to be.

I distinctly remember the professional liars like Limpdog and Hanniterd pontificating that criticizing the Commander in Chief when we had troops in harms way was "harmful to the country" and bad for the morale of the troops. Yeah, right.

Where are those Jingofascists now? Blasting our current commander in chief while we have troops in harms way. What a difference an election makes, huh? I'd love to hear their excuse, if they even had enough self-awareness to make one up.

Of course they would be considered traitorous. In fact, they were.
I agree with Cooper that Cheney could hold a private meeting with the President or Sec Def Gates and express his opinions. Choosing as he has, to debate this in a public forum is a tactic designed to hurt the President's credibility. He has to know that. He has to know that he is actually doing exactly what many accused Kerry or Murtha or others of doing, emboldening our enemies and putting our troops and citizens at greater risk.
I find his tactics to be self-serving and despicable.

Of course they are, and of course he knows. These people have no shame.

I really don't think Darth Cheney gives a rat's a$$ about keeping anybody safe except himself... safe from prison.

Wouldn't it be delicious if he wound up in a cell next to a former Gitmo detainee?

I watched this interview last night. This bimbo is on record that the Abu Ghraib treatment was illegal and was just done by a few "bad apples". When the pics come out from GTMO I wonder if she will change her tune. Of course not, but we shall see,

The Troglodytes are all over the place on this, if you really distill their message down and remove the bedwetting hyperbole.

On the one hand, they will insist that waterboarding was legal and was not torture. However, they admit that the stuff done at Abu Ghraib was illegal and that the "few bad apples" who did it deserve to be in jail.

How can they reconcile those two viewpoints?

This lady is as crazy as her father. They are delusional.

Look at it this way, you have a guerilla fighting machine that cannot take on the U.S. in a conventional war. They fight us the only way they know how, through terror. The people who devise these merciless attacks are not dumb. They know they cannot win on the ground against the most powerful military in the world. So what do the smart ones do? They create an environment of fear that would instigate a knee-jerk reaction. The Bush administration (and Cheney in particular) played right into their hands. Because of their actions (Bush/Cheney), terrorist recruitment went up and world sentiment went AGAINST the U.S. The Patriot Act was passed, our individual liberties were crapped on, no bid contracts made war profiteering a lucritive business; all in the name of national security.

So thank you, Cheney, for allowing the terrorists to gain ground. Thank you for allowing them to grow in numbers. Thank you for having the rest of the world shun us. Thank you for opening us up for another attack.

Dick Cheney, you are a repugnant excuse for a human being. Your criminal neglect allowed 9/11 to happen and your actions since have resulted in a dark period in America's history. However, you do live in a country where you can still speak your mind, despite YOUR best efforts. Feel free to continue to spout your hate and discontent with the efficacy of a bitter old man who has waisted his life in an imaginary world of fear that you continue to justify with distortions and misinformation, and that has lead you to become at best a warmonger and at worst a traitor to your country.

Get off the platform your on, publish your damned book, and retire in the bowels of Hell so we can finally gain ground in cleaning up YOUR mess.

What the hell is wrong with the MSM? They book this woman over and over again and let her say the same damn things over and over again.

Cooper hardly challenged her at all and yet his bland questioning is more than most reporters have dared to do. The MSM should be ashamed that they continue to let this child of nepotism blather on almost nightly.

yea he didnt really challenge her and she just got shut down still when he asked if the way her fathers going about things is actually making our enemies bolder. I also cant believe she said its his(Cheney's) moral duty when hes allowed the torturing of people his morals are obviously not what leads his actions

Well duh! Of course the Republicans would call the Democrats traitors for doing with Cheney is. How do we know this? Because they did! Democrats have rightfully chastised Republicans for their policies for years and the Republican retort was "traitors"! We Progressives can't lower ourselves to their level! Be bigger people, don't be hypocrites anymore! Let's acknowledge the facts!

"It is the absolute right of the State to supervise the formation of public opinion."
Joseph Goebbels (Propaganda Minister for Hitler)

"Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play."
      Joseph Goebbels

If you repeat a lie often people believe it to be the truth. Since a majority of the people don't do any profound research into the issues then they are easily configured by the state to toss away their principles.

Again with the ticking time bomb nonsense. I wish one "journalist" would have the spine to point out that (A.) Such a scenario has never occurred outside the fictional confines of Hollywood and (2.) If by some bizarre chance it did, any self-respecting Agent or soldier or politician would gladly risk legal jeopardy to save lives, if that's what it took.

Does anybody really believe that a CIA agent would stand back and let New York City blow up because the steps needed to save it might break the law? Really?

What I find most fascinating about the transition from Bush, Jr., to the Obama administration is that the degeated party keeps acting like they are STILL in power and that only if they would have had another 8 years or 12 or 16 they would have been able to convince us they were CORRECT. Well, boys (and girls in this case) you LOST. Please get it through those thick skulls of yours .. YOPU LOST. Now, let us who elected the most capable president in 50 years, let US do the job you couldn't.

There was none of the B.S. coming from my party when we lost to Georgie-boy, Jr. We sucked it up and got on with it. Why does Mr and Ms Cheney think they are still running this country and perpetrating on us exactly what they said was traitorous to Georgie-boy? Me thinks they've ingested too many twinkies.

      Really?
Ms. Cheney can honestly say that the Republicans would not accuse a former Vice President who attacked a sitting Republican administration in this way traitorous? Her body language alone betrays her knowledge that she is lying to Mr. Cooper.

I do not hear a lot of complaints coming from the Democrats about this being a traitorous act but then again Democrats actually believe in free speech and tend to only complain about real acts of treason. But I am quite sure that if the roles were reversed, Rush Limbaugh and the others in the Right Wing media would be talking about treason without ceasing.

Thanks to the Cheneys for reminding the nation why we voted the Republicans out of office.
