Lucky for us nobody, including Republicans, watches Morning Joe.
The plan is for the GOP fringe to go nuts on this nomination while voters look on in astonished horror. So far everything is working out.

Joe must have remembered to take his Prozac this morning... he's actually making sense.

Notice how Mika seems to have the right instinct at the beginning of the clip. She starts to say that the "racist" line of attack is nonsense, which it is, but she stops herself and waits to see what Joe is going to say.

The two Rush dittoheads are so disingenuous. If I'm not mistaken, Joe did exactly that-- calling Sotomayor a racist-- on his radio program yesterday. I can't be 100% sure b/c I did not listen for more than a minute or two, after I heard the butchering of Sotomayor's Berkeley speech. Apologies if I'm mistaken. Below is the link:

Since they are circling back to the iceberg, I think the best thing for us democrats to do is to make sure the boat doesn't run out of fuel

Hopefully they stuck to their true core principles and cut way back on the number of lifeboats the ship carries.

I like the Titanic analogy. I also like the Ball-Chasing-Puppies analogy that one of our fellow posters here coined. He mostly applied it to the Press, but it also works for the Right Wing Flying Monkey Brigade.

Obama may be smarter than we realize. This nomination has totally sucked the air out of the Nancy Pelosi non-scandal, as well as the Guantanamo debate. In fact, the last peep about Guantanamo was that General Petraeus was in favor of closing it. OUCH!

Meanwhile, the Right Wing Puppies are chasing the Sotomayor ball down the street... yapping prodigiously... into the path of an oncoming bus.

Hmmmm. Maybe this is why they so easily abandoned the torture debate.

nerzog - Thank you so much for the link to the article. What is also great is the article itself has links to the reports mentioned and I do believe your right...."this is why they so easily abandoned the torture debate.

Great article. I'll be waiting to hear all about how General Taguba hates America and the troops, of course.

That article is from June of 2008. I was amazed, I thought it was recent. The GOP screechmonkeys kept the torture debate going for almost a year after this article was published. The MSM doesn't care about this story.

Bill O'Rielly and Joe Scarborough both see it, why can't these rest of these bozos? (Oh, yeah... because THEY'RE THE PROBLEM!)

That is actually one of the funniest things I've heard in a while. The imagery of circling back to hit the iceberg again just kills me for some reason.

What's that Sun Tzu quote, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." Republicans are destroying themselves beautifully.

Good point. We don't even have to refute them on points like they're making about Sotomayor, mostly because they sound so crazy, that the vast majority of people are not going to believe said points, which I think is what is going to happen with this nomination.

Curiously enough, we don't hear anything bad or negative (yet) coming out from the republican lawmakers in the Senate. Which is where the rubber really hits the road. All of these "pontificators" are just screechmonkeys yelling to hear themselves yell.

Given enough rope, they'll hang themselves fairly easily, and it looks like they're in that process as we speak.

Oh, and also, don't look now but the following things have come out recently:

        1. General Patraeus (who all of these guys have fallen in love with before), came out and said that Gitmo SHOULD be closed, and that Obama is right.

        2. There are a lot of economists now predicting that the recession could be over as soon as the next quarter, or by the end of this year.

If number 2 is correct, they might as well jump on that iceberg and hope for the best.

Joe is a raging hypocrite. Mika, is far worse. Her inability to form an opinion other than "Palin rocks" is obvious. This show is a major fail and it's no wonder, they're giving Willie a lead in morning show.

I feel for Mika's Dad... must be having to go through therapy to cope with what his daughter has turned into since she started being on that horrid show.

Ah, Mika is the same and so is Joe. The only reason he is speaking against the party is because their is a oppurtunity for him to wiggle his way back in. One: he just wrote a book to save the republican party, two: he still supports their talking points he just thinks they shouldn't say them out loud, and three: will one day bash the party over calling someone a rascist then the next day will support some extreme republican point.
