Beck is falling in line by calling her a racist before the Dems have a chance to call he & his allies racists. It's a simply ploy and a silly tactic that makes them look overheated and deranged.

I think Rush Limbaugh said yesterday that the Republican Party was full of chihuahuas.

I hate to admit that Rush is right about something, but he has a point, although not for the reason he intended.

All of these nitwits... Beck, Hannity, Gingrich, Rush... resemble nothing more than a pack of chihuahuas barking through the screen door at a big dog walking down the street... and Rush is the fattest chihuahua of them all.

Did Glenn Beck finish second in his class at Princeton? If not, then I don't think he should be saying Judge Sotomayor is "not that bright".

The real question ought to be; did Glenn finish college and receive an undergrad degree?

Not that finishing college is a support mechanism for "being smart". But old Glenn here pretty much takes himself down as it pertains to intelligence. He doth hang himself by his own words.

Glenn Beck is a raving idiot. Talk about not so bright. Who listens to this baffoon? If this isn't all an act, then he is quite possibly the stupidest person to ever get a show on any airwave.

Yes, Glen only in your world can someone that was her high school valedictorian, graduated from Princeton summa cum laude, and was editor of the Yale Law Journal be "not that bright".

Project much Glenn? After all, you are the one that belongs to a religion that believes in the inferiority of black people, or did, up until say, oh what? 20 years ago?

Her comment, taken into context, is not racist at all. Not in the least. This is like when these same group of jokers, and others, took Rev. Wright's now infamous "sermon" out of context to "prove" that he too, was a racist.

Didn't work then, doesn't work now. Any reasonable sane and rational person who reads her entire comment/speech about which they are complaining will see that she was not being racist in her comment.

I know that it's frowned upon here to trash Beck's religion, but you're absolutely right.

Even more telling is the fact that he converted to said religion as an adult, so he can't use the "I-was-raised-that-way" defense. Surely, someone as "well-read" and full of "historical knowledge" as Beck would look at that religion's basic tenets and just laugh.

Or, maybe he's not all that smart, after all.

I think Mormonism is easy to trash. I mean, it was just made up, out of whole cloth, by a guy who was a con artist to begin with. The whole Book of Mormon was dictated through a curtain to someone taking notes, as it was read off of "gold" tablets that he "found".

          I mean, come on...

I'm used to the far right's spin/noise machine by now...or so I thought.
But the last bizarro world days have been one racist after another calling a non-racist a racist.

If Obama and his nominee were going to have to go through all of this anyway, he should have nominated a liberal.

If all the conservative presidents nominate conservatives, and all the liberal presidents have too much respect for the court to do so and nominate moderates...in 30 years we'll have a Supreme Court of 4-5 moderates and 4-5 conservatives.

Agreed. I am actually surprised that it hasn't come out by now, although on radio you have the "dump" button for when you say something that you don't want to get out. I'm sure it's been uttered on Limbaugh's show already, but the radio delay makes it possible for that stuff to not get out there.

Are you sure he's talking about Sotomayor? It sounds like he's talking about himself here. After all, Beck is nothing if not racist, not that bright and divisive, is he?

      That's right, Becky---keep it up.
Call her a racist. (If there's anyone who knows about racism it's you Becky.)
Compare her to Hitler. (Remember that whole empathy thing and how you thought Hitler was empathetic?)
And by all means call her dumb. (Better yet, show her your college marks.)

Becky, you are doing a great job for the Republican party. With you and Rush on the air, there's no telling just how small the party will be.

Glenn Beck should talk about not being that bright and a divisive individual! And as far as being a racist. well, he doesn't have much room to talk there, either. I am not undecided on which way to go with him, I think he is a dangerous, angry, hateful man who does far greater harm with his accusations than she ever will with remembering her roots.

Exactly what I thought when I first read this..."Beck accusing Sotomayor of being 'not so bright'...well, what are your credentials?"

Looking at his college education, Beck took one theology class at Yale. It also talks about how he was at a special program for non-traditional students while he was working in radio in New Haven. Sotomayor graduated Summa Cum Laude from Princeton and got her Law degree from Yale.

Typical of the wingnuts, Beck follows the "let's just call them stupid" school. If anybody calls them on it, they just accuse them of being "elitist". You see it all the time. Compare right-wing commentators and their counterparts...
Bill O'Reilly- graduated from Marist college and has a MA in Broadcast Journalism from Boston U.
Keith Olbermann- graduated from Cornell with a BS in communications studies, and got offered a full scholarship to Boston U.
Rush Limbaugh- dropped out of SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY after 2 semesters and 1 summer, according to his OWN MOTHER "failed everything", including a ballroom dancing class.
Rachel Maddow- graduated from Stanford, was a Rhodes Scholar and got a Doctor of Philosophy in political science from Oxford.
