EMBED

LIMBAUGH: Today, the Republican Party seems more interested in condemning its supporters and its friends than in doing its job. Now, normally, I don't respond to all of this media-bashing because if I did, it would be all I do -- there's so much of it -- but the fact of the matter is, ladies and gentlemen, my wit and wisdom and brilliance is being drowned out out there, and I have learned over the course of many, many moons that if you don't stand up for yourself, nobody else will either.

Now, a day is going to come here -- a day will come when reality hits. A day is going to come when each and every American looks up to the heavens and says, "Why didn't somebody warn me?" I am that someone. I am that someone warning you. I am here to warn you each and every day, and all the drive-bys and even Republicans -- all of these people using me to win a one-night stand with the media, to win glowing praise from their enemies -- is not going to stop me from being that someone that you're going to say someday, "Why didn't somebody tell me about this?"

Rush is collapsing. Before, he could survive by bullying anybody who stood up to him. Now, too many are standing up to him at once for him to be able to attack them all back. So more and more can attack. Rush will be run out of the GOP.

I live for the day when Rush is carted out of the EIB studio in a straightjacket and loaded into an unmarked windowless van and driven to the nearest asylum.

Who here thinks he will make it by the end of Obama's first term?

How will they ever survive without his "wit and wisdom and brilliance?"

If by "they" you mean the reich wing, I'm quite sure they'll follow limbaugh wherever he goes.

I'd rather see him run off the planet.

No Rush. They're getting tired of your "crazy" and seek to distance themselves from you because even though you were pretty nuts before, you've now become totally and completely unhinged.

Just you, Dick, and Hannity will be the last bastions of "real" republicans no doubt.

But isn't Bill O'Rightwing 'looking out for [us]', according to the title of one of his books?

      Reality???

Reality, in the very sense that Limbaugh speaks of, has already hit. It's called the Bush legacy. Whether it's war, the economy, health care, unemployment... the last 8 years have already brought a harsh reality to the masses. The day has already come and gone, but for Rush, and a select few, that day has yet to come...

"But during all this growth I haven’t lost any audience. I’ve never had financially a down year. There’s supposedly a recession, but we’ve got - what is this May? Back in February we already had 102% of 2008 overbooked for 2009. [applause] So I always believed that if we’re going to have a recession, just don’t participate. [laughter] "

If I thought it would make a difference, I would suggest that the Democrats make a commercial out of that clip, and play it for all those Joe the Plumbers who are out of work and think Rush "speaks for the common man."

They would say we're taking Rush out of context, or that it was just a joke.

I fear that the Drooling Rushies are beyond help.

Has anyone noticed smacking sound when Rush speaks? Could be dry mouth...

Short Term Effects of Oxycontin (from drugfree.org): The most serious risk associated with opioids, including OxyContin, is respiratory depression. Common opioid side effects are constipation, nausea, sedation, dizziness, vomiting, headache, dry mouth, sweating, and weakness. Taking a large single dose of an opioid could cause severe respiratory depression that can lead to death.
