Also states that the way to "get promoted in the Barack Obama administration" is "by hating white people."

LIMBAUGH: I care about whether she's qualified, and I think she's disqualified herself. Not only does she lack the often-discussed appropriate judicial temperament, it's worse than that. She brings a form of bigotry or racism to the court. I don't care -- we're not supposed to say it, we're supposed to pretend it didn't happen, we're supposed to look at other things, but it's the elephant in the room. The real question here that needs to be asked -- and nobody on our side, from a columnist to a TV commentator to anybody in our party has the guts to ask: How can a president nominate such a candidate? And how can a party get behind such a candidate? That's what would be asked if somebody were foolish enough to nominate David Duke or pick somebody even less offensive.

You mean he's a pathetic, uneducated, ignorant, angry fat man. This is the ugly curmudgeon of a liar who pleaded that a cyst on his rear prevented him from being drafted. This "super patriot" dodged his military call up when his country summoned him. His diatribes are equivalent of yelling "fire" in a crowded theater.

Dear Mr. Limbaugh: The "modern day Republican Party" is not "allowed" to do certain things because the "modern day Republican Party" is getting "voted" out of office through a process called "democracy". Sorry I ruined your white panther party.

This guy is really funny, and the most hilarious thing he said in the clip was "content of character." Of course, "we used to treat people as just people," is risible too.

I doubt that Snerdley even exists. You never hear him on mic when Rush is "having a conversation" with him. But you hear the other people in the studio that Sean Insanity and M. Rotten Levin have side conversations with.

I think Snerdley is just another of Rush's lies.

        Important Note: Context.

Listen to all Rush said in context. The point Rush is making is the double standard of Dem. nominations compared Rep. nominations. Sotomayor could never be nominated by a Rep. due to these comments. Rep's would get blasted, buy the media like they did for Roberts and Aito who where very qualified and didn't make a statement that said they were superior based being male and white, which Sotomayor made b/c she is female and hispanic.

There are a lot of nice stories out there based on how many politicians have made and "it" from the most difficult of up bringings. But that doesn't all of a sudden qualify her for a life time appointment for the highest court in the nation.

Crazy idea, lets look at the record and not at her ethnicity to determine qualitications and stop blasting the messenger who's using statements like these to draw attention to his point of view.

She didn't say she was superior based on her race, she was speaking to a specific type of case. And it's not a double standard because the circumstances aren't the same for a white person saying it - white people are not nearly as subject to racism.

Why do you believe she's not qualified? What makes you think anyone is saying she should be on the bench simply because of her race, exactly?

Take your own advice, Serve, and look at the context of Sotomayor's statement that your beloved and all the right wing gang are taking out of context to posit, as you are doing, that she is claiming superiority. If you read the entire paragraph, you'll see that she was saying she needed to be aware of her different perceptions and life experience, to make sure that they didn't inappropriately affect her decisions.

"[Republicans] would get blasted, [by] the media like they did for Roberts and Aito..."

Except that Roberts and Alito were not 'blasted by the media.'

Was there a point you wanted to make? Oh, maybe here it is:

"There are a lot of nice stories out there based on how many politicians have made and "it" from the most difficult of up bringings. But that doesn't all of a sudden qualify her for a life time appointment for the highest court in the nation."

No one is saying it does. What you have done here is called a 'straw man fallacy,' wherein you attack a statement nobody made. And you have done it in defense of someone who has baselessly equated Sotomayor with a white supremacist, which is also a fallacy.

See, Limbaugh isn't going crazy or anything. What he's doing is making it easy for people like Serve1 here to be confused about what is real and what is not real. That's how the Republicans get people to vote for them.

Alito proudly belonged to a group that advocated AGAINST diversity. That is a fact. Also, when Democrats even dared ask him about belonging to this group they were (and still are being) attacked for even mentioning such a thing. That is a fact. Belonging to the group was not offensive, but asking about belonging to the group - that was offensive. That is the down is up world we live in through the media when it comes to Republicans and Democrats today.

Ususally I just shrug this stuff off, but this truly offended me. As a white male, I hope that people realize that most people don't think this way, only a small fringe group at the most.

To compare a group of RICH WHITE MEN who have merely been out of office for a couple of months to MINORITIES DURING THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT is sick. I don't see many rich white guys being arrested for drinking out of the wrong water fountain or sitting to close to the front of a public bus.

Free speech is paramount in America, but something has to be done about this. I wish I could apologize for this kind of hate speech. I just can't imagine what it must be like to be as angry as some of these talking heads. It must be awful.

Kieth Olbermann speculated that Rush might be having a mental breakdown... maybe he's right.

On the other hand, maybe Rush is doing what he always does... demonstrating just how brain-dead his drooling sycophants really are.

In reality, I think he's giving the rest of us a sidelong glance and a wink, as if to say "See? I can tell them ANY F***ING THING...and they still believe it!"

      ENOUGH!!!!

I'm sick of people comparing current event to past events.

Fat a** Limbo doesn't have a freaking clue what life was like when the Klan was around.

African Americans who lived through the Klan period survived every day terrorism. You NEVER knew when a family member or a friend might disappear. You want to talk about fear? Try walking on egg shells, never knowing if something you did would garner you a night time visit.

Fat a** Limbo, just simply say, you long for the days of David Duke and the Klan when those minorities knew there place. After all, it's not like we don't know you don't want the first African American president to succeed or the first Hispanic woman on the court.

Why are we talking about Limbaugh? Limbaugh should be in court being tried for treason. Anyone who publicly hopes for the American president (and thus my country) to fail during a time of two active wars is committing treason in my book.

Of course they are! I read that 70% of rural programming is given away for free by CIC. All they have to do is pay for the advertising and viola! 3 hours a day without paying for someone to talk is a money saver to the rural community! It's one of those little known secrets about Limbaugh's "vast" network of listeners...

It must be Rush's goal to offend and oppress everyone he can think of. If white Christian males are the new minority, then I am very confused when I watch TV and see the House of Representatives or the Congress, cause it seems quite the opposite.

Rush really tries to upset everyone and start a fire. He is good at it, but what he doesn't realize is that it's not good for his party. I am convinced at this point Rush doesn't care about politics, only a paycheck.

Put all the spin on it you want. The modern liberal mantra is class warfare and racism. If a conservative had stated anything remotely like what Sotomayor had stated the topic of this blog would be to demonize and destroy. Yet since she is a nominee of your anointed one she gets not only a pass but the full onslaught of demonization of anyone who points out her racist views and comments. These posts aren't intellectually honest because you take your talking points directly from this website. Racism is racism and should not be tolerated from anyone but since it doesn't fit your narrative or talking points it can't possibly be a characteristic and something pointed out about anyone on the left. What is really funny is that the left is out in droves and stating that anyone who doesn't support Sotomayor in the confirmation process is themselves racist. The left in this country are the race baiters and the first to play the race card and fuel racism to further their agenda. Racism is a tool of the modern liberal democrat party and home of the most racist comments on record. This country will be never be rid of racism until it is rid of liberals.

What is really going on here, is a full court press by the con media and perhaps even the so called main stream media to raise such a ruckus that they hope she will pull her name without any of the racist and bigoted senators having to actually get into the fray by doing the dirty work the righwing press is doing for them.

Think about it. The press is happy to oblige the racists, bigots and total ignorance being presented by these people as though they couldn't be happier about the idea of bringing down a nominee through lies and racism. ANYONE with two brain cells to rub together knows exactly what she meant and so do the cons and their lapdogs in the media.

And the press wonder why the public has such disdain for them.
