Once again reality flies in the bitter faces of wingnut radio hosts. The NY Post article linked from Drudge states that the restaurant patrons didn't bother the Obamas except for the cheers and huge round of applause they gave the Obamas as they were leaving. No one was inconvenienced. In fact, the public overall was enthralled and supportive. They Obama's also traveled in a small exec jet to keep the costs low. Imagine that. Change we can believe in.

No, Laura, you are just ignorant.

Laura, the Obamas go OUT for dates. The Bushs' stayed in. Duh!!

Laura, what do you eat besides crow?

Laura, can't you see the change yet??? Isn't it nice that elections have consequences?

Laura, this President keeps non-talent nutz like you in business.

Laura, you are a sad woman.

Laura, your hate glows around you.

P.S. Thank God you are no longer on in Pittsburgh. There is a God.

If Laura has such a problem with this story "swamping" the news, why is she devoting so much time to it on her show?

Isn't she adding to the overload and playing into the "management of the press" that she's complaining about?

Does she not think that will occur to us as we listen to her whine?

Her audience wouldn't know what happened in the world if she didn't tell them.
As an aside...Can you imagine how low her second banana is? Who is this guy? Can he actually can his mommy and tell her what a great job he has? Imagine the phone call.."Hi Mom, it's me. And I just got a job being the underling to Laura Ingraham." Mom, "What, no real jobs available?"

A conversation between Bush and an old friend, author Doug Wead, touched on the subject of use of illegal drugs. In the taped recording of the conversation, Bush explained his refusal to answer questions about whether he had used marijuana at some time in his past. “I wouldn’t answer the marijuana questions,” Bush says. “You know why? Because I don’t want some little kid doing what I tried.”[14] When Wead reminded Bush of his earlier public denial of using cocaine, Bush replied, "I haven't denied anything."[15]

Snoopy, love how you never answer questions, just make insults. Snoopy, if Bush had taken Laura out on a date, you and the lefties would be saying, "How can a man go out on the town with men at war, or sure it would be nice if the men in war could take their wives out". Obama just proves he could care less about the poor, he just rubbed in the face of them during this date night. How about you go low profile on your date, that way you still take your wife out, but do not make a big deal about it. I am sure Bush did take out his wife, he just did not have to have the press know all about it. Just shows he is about he cameras, not the date. I am guessing he did not say too much, do not see a teleprompter with him.

How the hell do you know what a "lefty" is going to say?

We on the left knew the War in Iraq was going to last for years and also knew that life would be the same for everyone as people died in the wars. Everyone goes out to dinner. Everyone goes to the theater or to the movies. And they do it during war time too.

Are you at all familiar with the box office statistics for the years 1941 to 1945?

"Ninety million Americans went to the movies every week during World War II. The war dramatically changed the nature of the movies, which were no longer mere entertainment, but a valuable morale-booster, a source of information, and an instrument of public education."

You've never had a great deal of credibility and with this post what you had is gone.

Using it, and being addicted to it are 2 entirely different things.

Plus, Bush obviously has an addictive personality, coming from his alcohol abuse days, that's obvious. He had a drinking problem, and good for him, he conquered it. It was most likely the same for coke.

I know some folks from Kennebunkport who used to party with W, and they said most of the times, he was way out of control.

Seems like the Bush crime family should have taken a closer look at the actual domestic terrorists. You know, the ones who kill doctors in their church because they think violence is an acceptable form of political protest. It's not even like these monsters are hiding their agenda.

Thing is, I'm sure there were traffic back ups and things like that, and I'm sure that there were some people who were inconvenienced by the date night and all, but it's not the Obama's who are garnering this press coverage, it's the media drooling all over stupid stories like this (yes, I said stupid). This is more of a People magazine story than anything else, or heck, even US Weekly.

I hate to say it, but we have a President who is incredibly popular. He's genuinely a "rock star" around the world, and especially at home. When he goes somewhere, he gets more coverage than normal I think, because 1. He's the President, and 2. See previous popular comment.

Only folks like Ms. Ingraham have an issue with our President being popular.

On another note, I was listening to her radio show one day (glutton for punishment that I am), and she was interviewing someone about a book they had written. A very non political, this is my life story kind of book. At the end of her interview, she managed to throw in a, "So what do you think of President Obama?" and then her guest, which I'm sure she knew, trashed Obama for the next 4-5 minutes.

What a farce her show is.

Bush didn't need date night as he took 900 vacation days'

487 Days At Camp David For Bush

      Yes, that's 487 days.

And Camp David is not even where the president has spent the most time when not at the White House: Knoller reports that Mr. Bush has made 77 visits to his ranch in Crawford during his presidency, and spent all or part of 490 days there.

Close to 3 years of vacation. That's a pretty good amount of time off.

Wait for it. Someone will be here in a moment to say that, "Those were working vacations. He could do the same work in Crawford as he could in DC..." Yeah, right...

1 night off vs 900 days of vacation. I'll gladly pay for the 1 night off.
