Unlike Cavuot, I actually WORK in the Auto Industry. Gov't intervention is the least of GM concerns. And always remember: THEY ASKED FOR THIS!!! BEGGED for it! THEY FLEW TO D.C. AND LOBBIED FOR THIS IN PERSON!!! So let's not shed too many tears for GM because of what the gov't may or may not do. Ford made their choice, GM and Chrysler made theirs. Time will tell who was right, assuming all three weren't.
Couldn't this hack cavuto (who as a child actor, played the part of Eddie Munster on 'The Munsters' television show... I bet you didn't know that), couldn't this hack just as easily have said:
"The Federal Government's role at GM has now become like Bill Gates at Microsoft, and you don't make a move without checking with Bill"
Or even to have said "the government has now become Henry Ford, and you don't make a move without checking with Henry"
Why didn't this hack cavuto (who played Eddie Munster back in his better days), why didn't he analogize the situation to be like Bill Gates at Microsoft, or better yet, like Henry Ford at Ford Motor Company?
Even this analogy would have been apt...
"The government has become rupert murdoch, and you don't make a move without checking with rupert"
Too bad Fox News remains Forrest Gump.
