Oh wait, he was trying to say the postal service is bad because what exactly?
And Amtrak and the Postal Service aren't operated by the government, only funded by it (in Amtrak's case, only partially funded by it). They're both set up by law that way.
UPS, FedEx, and the US Postal Service are interchangeable as far as I'm concerned. It only depends on who's closer to my house.
So, let's also get rid of:
Army
Navy
Marines
Air Force
Coast Guard
duh
But all these government run enterprises cannot support themselves financially and rely on taxpayer subsidies to survive. As stand-alone businesses, they would fail. But the subsidies allow them to continue to provide their substandard services. Too bad.
Postal Service - 4 days to get a letter across the coutnry for 44 cents. Not bad. Email and electronic transfers is what keeps them from operating at a profit.
Amtrak - Last time I ever looked they were to expensive compared to driving, at least along the eastern corridor.
My health insurance with a fortune 500 company....one hassle after another.
