Maybe because Al Qaeda doesn't represent the vast Muslim population of the world, you stupid twit.

Uhhhhh...maybe because it's the smart thing to do? Conservatives seem to regard hatred of America by foreign countries and cultures as a badge of honor. Fortunately, we now have a President with greater sophistication than the last one, and who understands the importance of America's standing in the world. Even if you have to hold your nose and fake it, Mr. President, keep saying the right things because we can get a hell of a lot more accomplished, and keep our country safer, if the rest of the world does not hate us.

Don't know this lady but I 'wonder' what else she 'wonders' about.
Do these people live in a fox cocoon? Do they know anything beyond their management written telepromptor material or in her case a mirror?
I think that people like her add a DUH-DUH to the word DUH!!
And what about her audience....a triple DUH.

One day she wondered why the softball was getting larger and larger.
        Then it struck her...

Maybe it would be instructive to look at what happened in the decades leading up to 9/11? Just a thought.

Nobody is saying that we "deserved" to be attacked, but smart people understand that all of our foreign policy actions have consequences... some good, some bad, many unexpected.

Why do Conservatives find that concept so hard to grasp?

Because, in their little view of our great country, we can do NO wrong, no matter what happens...

I remember asking people to go back, read some history on what lead up to the attacks of 9/11, and to listen to what al Qaeda was saying before, and after the attacks, and their "reason" for them.

Instead, most of what we got was, "They hate our freedom! That's why they're attacking us!"

No, they don't, and that's not why they attacked the country at all, but the conservative media, and conservatives in general fail to recognize these things. Nobody was saying we deserved to be attacked, but in order to prevent another one from happening, they should wake up and realize why 9/11 happened in the first place.

You're right. Apparently, a lot of people don't realize that we've been mucking around in the Middle East ever since we realized the strategic importance of their oil. There are many people over there who resent us and the Europeans for that very reason.

The Euros have been there even longer. I think we started up our little endevours back towards the 1950's when we deposed the leader of Iran, and installed the Shah, which lead to the Islamic Revolution, and so on and so forth.

Not to mention our very tacit approval, support, and funding of Israel over the years.

There is a lot of background information that people, well, just ignore really and pay no attention to it.

In the early parts of the 20th-century and before, our reputation in that part of the world was actually very high and we were favorably compared against the European colonialists. What a difference our hunger for oil, especially post-WWII, made.

"Not to mention our very tacit approval, support, and funding of Israel over the years."

Also, not to mention our tacit approval, support and funding of repressive regimes. Most US Administrations didn't give a damn about a government's human rights record, as long as they weren't communist and kept the oil flowing.

Tell us, in detail, what happened in the last decades that led up to 9/11 and then pass that along to the families of the victims of 9/11, many of them Muslim. I'm sure they will appreciate your "wisdom".

Why? How would that help them? Do you think we ought to pretend reality itself doesnt exist because it might hurt someones feelings? Perhaps that is how we should run our entire foriegn policy. What should we do in Nicaragua. Lets ask the victims of the proxy terrorists the contras? What should we do in Guatemala? Lets ask the victims of the government terror campaign that has killed a couple of hundred thousand since WE overthrew their first and only democratically elected government? What about the Dominican Republic? Maybe we ought to ask those KILLED when we invaded in 64 in support of the military dictatorship that overthew THIER democratically elected leader. Same question with the democratically elected leaders we deposed and dictatorships we enacted in Brazil, Iran, Chile. Should we decide what our foriegn policy should be based on not hurthing the feelings of THOSE victims? Or is your point more simplistic and one sided?

I appreciate your knowledge of history, but I'm gonna guess that your response will be lost on Puppie. He strikes me as one who lives in a world where America never ever does anything wrong.

I wouldn't call that a "reaching out" -- that was more of a "reach around":

Was the attacked provoked by something we did? Ask FOX execs, they seem to have the inside on everything and great cencorship of what the American public will see and if they will see it!

Askl Fox news reporters how deep does the investigation go as to why we were attacked. They have had FOX news reporters covering the relationship with the Saudi Royalties and Bush for over 17 years. ASK them why would half way need to apologize................................................

Ask Fox for disclosure since it seems they always Brief Murdoch!!!
