The point is not so much about reaching violent Islamic extremists as it is to stop the recruitment and radicalization of Muslims who are not yet extremists. i think the only reason she even brought up the bin laden tape was becuase after watching president obama speak she had no where else to go. because as usual, the president made what i thought was a thoughtful and powerful statement of peace and of a way forward in our dealings with the world. and the foxites (i believe thats what they like to be called on their planet.) cannot understand this because after the last eight years they have become so used to getting their way in the world by either killing or threatening to kill those that disagree with their world vision that they truly don't understand the concept of power through peace. i really do feel sorry for them though as all they have left to cling to is the hatred in their hearts.

Obama's also failed to reach the radical jihadists at Fox News. Oh well, no one's perfect.

That's right, Gretch...Obama has indeed failed to convert the extremists, but then I'm pretty sure he never thought he had a chance of converting you anyway.

As IRONY has pointed out, the speech was aimed at the vast majority of Muslims who are not violent extremists.

The only way to contain Islamic terrorism is to recruit other Muslims to our cause, and convince them that it is also in their best interest to solve this problem. Numbnuts Bush and Darth Cheney chose not to understand this, and the Troglodytes now running the Republican party still chose not to understand it.
