Actually about 70 Million Smericans woke up last November and realized that we had twice elected a brain-dead president and that it was time to try something different.

And it only took about 4,000 dead American soldiers for them to realize it.

Why would "al Qeada" bother with crossing the border?

Wouldn't they be better served to simply open the hypothetical vial of bio-agent just on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande near Brownsville, Eagle Pass, El Paso, or Tijuana across from San Diego?

And no Mr. Rodgers, we would not ask ourselves what have we done by electing Obama... we would begin to realize even more that the damage done under Bush/Cheney was deeper and worse than we thought.

      Cretin!

Well, that attack by Iraqi terrorists that killed George H.W. Bush worked so well......

He, of course, would consider them a small price to pay, like all those suckers in uniform who couldn't get a deferment.

I believe that right now, more than ever, the dick cheney crowd is rooting for an attack against Americans, one that's horrific and brutal, in order to give them (the dick cheney crowd) the double satisfaction of having their threats of doom come true, and also of maybe destroying some part of the faith the American People presently have in President Obama.

Here's a wildly hypothetical question, deal with it as you like :

If somehow dick cheney or anyone in his crowd had 'actionable intelligence' of an imminent terror attack against the American People or against any interest of ours (such as the bombing of a U.S. Embassy), would they lift a finger or say anything to try and stop it?

The question of course really asks you your opinion of dick cheney and his crowd :

Are the lives of some number of Americans, or the security of a U.S. Embassy, more important to them than the possible destruction of President Obama's reputation right now (a reputation they so obviously would live to see destroyed, as why else are they working overtime to destroy it), and are those same American lives and perhaps a U.S. Embassy more important to dick cheney and his crowd right now, than are their own reputations, and their own desire to say "we told you so"?

I know, it's a wildly hypothetical question, but if seriously considered, all it does is register your opinion of dick cheney and his crowd, as they seem hell bent in registering their malicious opinion of our President.

I think you raise a valid point, and it's not all that far fetched. After all "some say" that Cheney was actually behind the 9/11 attacks.

Seriously, though, I do believe that some of the Troglodytes are secretly hoping for some kind of terrorist attack, so they can use it to beat Democrats over the head. It's their only real hope of beating Obama in 2012, and it would reduce the chances of any kind of investigations into the Bush/Cheney crimes to absolute ZERO.

Another question: does anybody think that the Republicans, in the event of any kind of attack on American citizens by any kind of terrorist organization, would support ANY part of Obama's reaction, or would they simply attack Obama and the Democrats? Personally, I don't think any of the right-wing talking heads or Republican leaders would be interested in anything except grabbing for power. Remember the Project for the New American Century called for a "catastrophic, Pearl Harbor-like event" to cause enough fear in the U.S. public for them to enact their agenda. They got one.

IMHO, if Cheney had information about an upcoming attack on the US, he wouldn't act on it and would probably actively try to hide it from the Obama administration. I think he wants another attack so he can get back into power and avoid investigations into his war crimes. His actions -- contant lying, advocating torture, attempting to claim the VP was a 4th branch of government, illegal domestic spying, an absolute desire for secrecy and demand for obedience -- demonstrate exactly why he is, and was, totally unfit for office.

Well, did they lift a finger on the actionable intelligence they had in the summer of '01?

I don't think it's wildly hypothetical at all. This small bitter group of so-called patriots long for an attack. Without one, they are nothing more than a bunch of angry white men incapable of accepting the verdict of a democratic election.

Of course they won't admit their dark desire, but it's there in their carefully parsed words. America is not safe. Americans should be afraid.

Would they alert the government to a real threat against this country? Dem, I don't believe they would. Their argument, their proof, rests in the spilled blood of Americans.

But what makes America great is that fewer and fewer people are listening to them. Americans have endured eight long years of lies and fear-mongering and have turned their backs on them. They are fading apparitions of the politics of fear.

If, God forbid, there is another attack I think the vast majority of Americans will come together to grieve for the dead and to support the government they elected.
And if one of these bitter men dares stand up to say... "see I told you," they better hope they're in another country when they say it.

I've said it before---Dick Cheney is no patriot.
His legacy is one of senseless death and calculated fear. He and those who back him only love their country when they and no one else is running it.

Well Lee, if they're dead, it may be difficult for them to "wake up" to anything . . .

But, hey -- he's a wingnut with a microphone. Since when did they have to make any sense, as long as they've got a few loyal nonthinking listeners?
