I don't understand how this is Conservative misinformation. I mean, Scarborough's book is probably full of it (in more ways than one), but why is admitting that the show right now is a giant book plug misinformation?

Not that MMFA needs me to defend them, but these MMTV clips seem to be less about Conservative Misinformation, and more about "Hey, look at this."

I notice that they offer no comment on these clips beyond the headline, leaving us to draw our own scholarly conclusions and share them with the world.

        Or, maybe not.

Nerzog, at the risk of sounding even more apologetic than you, I believe that MMfA does a great job of fulfilling its mission and deserves to drop a few "look at this" moments (what NiceGuy stated as proving the point). Easy to Refute is correct, this isn't misinfo, but I think there's value in it even though it's outside the scope of MMfA's core principles.

It's not about misinformation. It's about the fact that the show has become one long infomercial for this idiot's book! I can't stand this phony saltine. He'a a Republican troll and judging by the ignorant things he says, I wouldn't have to buy his book to know that he's a moron. They couldn't name one company that has a union that's successful. Several angry readers flooded Andrew Ross Sorkin, the wonder kid who asked this stupid question and writes for the NY Times. NBC Universal, they were informed was just one of many they emailed to Sorkin. Of course, Scarborough never mentioned it the next day. Case closed. He's a MORON!

Chuck has a way of getting to the truth and frankly I'm surprised more guests do not take umbrage with the vulgarity of this self-promotional spectacle. Is the show about current affairs or has it become a daily infomercial for Joe's book?

Obama in Egypt? Who cares, why don't we discuss Joe's chapter on foreign policy. Sotomayor on Capital Hill? Hardly newsworthy. Let's instead turn to Joe's hackneyed take on conservatism. HC reform? Let's instead talk about Joe's chapter on entitlement reform. New CAFE standard? No one cares about that. We should look Let's turn to Joe's chapter on conservation. Jobless claims down this month? Who cares. Did u know Joe has a book? On and on and on....

I suppose things could be worse. Perhaps Joe and Mika will start wearing baseball caps with the title of Joe's book as the logo. If that doesn't work, force the guests to read passages from Joe's book.

In a way, it was almost a relief not to hear Joe reciting Republican talking points this morning, even if they did turn it into a shameless commercial for his book.

In fairness to Scarborough (though I'm not a fan), MSNBC does this with all its on-air talent. They shove Buchanan's book down our throats all the time, they show the covers of their guests' books all the time.

I think it's more of an MSNBC issue than a Morning Joe issue.

I wish that were the case. No one would complain about a plug here and there but this is really getting ridiculous. How many other tv personalities have pundits on daily to "debate" the merits of a host's book? I don't remember Chris Matthews inviting Doris Goodwin, Jon Meacham, Katrin VH, Eugene Robinson and others to talk about his own book for 10-15 minutes at a time. How many other cohosts plug the book at every chance?

Good point. It's true there's a difference when it's a host's book rather than a guest's. And it does get awfully pathetic when they use Mika to trot out Joe's book, as if that's any less self-serving.

Good for Chuck Todd..............Joe (Raygun) Blow looks ready to erupt in some serious violence! Made my day!!
Bad enough we have been subjected to non stop StarSUCKS pandering for days on end. Give IT a rest already!
I started to count the times ditzy Mika actually and childishly slapped Scar's hand or poked his shoulder to stop a tirade but lost count at 15 in a single show. Where are the adults? Getting to be a chore to wake up to the unholy trio of Scar, Mika and crazy Uncle Pat!
