Stop wetting your pants, Glenn. America's not going anywhere, regardless of how much faith you've lost in its leadership or its people.

But pete, don't you see that's because WE have common sense? Since Glenn lacks it, he sees the imminent destruction of everything we hold bla bla bla.

Beck's "common sense" is code for "deep-fried Snickers". He gets the munchies something fierce now that he's off the jerk juice.

This COULD be a valid statement... maybe by "our country", he means "my ideal country", a land of xenophobic, fearful losers who vote for whoever demonizes liberals and brown people more effectively. If that's what he meant, then, yeah, Glenn, "your country" is on its way out, and we cordially invite you to choke on it.

What's going down in California might give Blech some pointers on how a government can self distruct. The Liberals destroyed California! How long before some lugnut declares it on the air?

Oh yes, blame the liberals for California's demise. Lest we forget that the governator is a Republican that pretty much made a back room deal with big energy to oust Davis.

Davis was making progress on California's debt. He was thrown out on his ear for his troubles.
No I don't believe California's problem came from the Democratic party. Still I do believe they will eventually be scapegoated by the media. Whats another lie, whats the possible penalty for doing so again? Why on earth would they stop now? The damage will only be to the lives of "the little people", or so they believe.

It seems like every time a Repub holds office and something goes awry it's never their fault. How did the last two election cycles go for you guys with that strategy?

I've been a democratic voter for the last couple cycles. I hope to be able to vote republican sometime in the future, or perhaps independent. Monoparty rule has been shown to be a loser.
I'm not one of those guys, but I'd be inclined to think that it was more of a tactic in those instances. Using Democrats as an all purpose boogyman would be the strategy I'd like to think that more and more americans are becoming aware of the toxicity of NeoCon/Straussian political philosophy. How unamerican it is, but I'm not about to lose myself in the confidence that its all over but the shouting.

Glenn Beck is an entertainer and commentator. He also has a successful stand-up comedy routine. If you choose view him as a reporter, that's one thing. If you choose to see him as a comedian and political pundit, you'll actually enjoy his program. He's being condemned for something he doesn't do, hard news.

Actually, I believe Glenn hides behind the "entertainer" label, allowing him to spew his lunatic puke with impunity.

As far as finding him entertaining, I think one has to have a pretty broad definition of the word...

"He's being condemned for something he doesn't do, hard news."

Is Fox News a news channel or a comedy channel?

I think anyone who criticizes him knows that Beck is about as far from the business of hard news as someone can get.

As a broadcaster on a NEWS channel, Beck is being "condemned" for his egregious dishonesty, his disregard for facts, and his pathetic, tearful, dooms day alarmist pant wetting.

But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Tell me what the joke is when he tells America that we're "facing the destruction of your country," or when referring to surging gun sales he says, "they coming for you at some point, you're on the list. Everybody's on the list."

Is this just good-natured banter? I just don't get what's funny about this. What's the witticism? Where's the irony and satire?

Glenn is right, we don't have enough common sense, this guy would have been committed in a hospital long before he had a radio show.

once again Beck avoids acknowledging the unfettered greed and corruption that just might be at the root of the "destruction of our country", as he puts it,
This is his same philosopy: Government Bad,
Market Capitalism and its Sacred-Self-Destructive-Tendencies Good
