I really, really want Newt to run for president. In fact, I really, really want him to win the GOP nomination.
And if he could pick Liz Cheney as his running mate, it would be the icing on the cake.

In a field of GOP cave dwellers, Newt would be the perfect candidate to appeal to the base. Of course, that's the only group he'd appeal to and his defeat to Obama might very well turn into the largest in American electoral history.

I'm crossing my fingers now and won't uncross them until Newt's acceptance speech.

And also that he is predictably anti-administration, which doesn't add anything substantial to the debate. He's not open to the possibilities of America except what the Heritage Foundation faxes him.

Don't you know Mike, Newt has like 100 times more ideas thatn anyone in Washington. Who cares that it is just a DC narrative that has no basis in fact. Anyone know any ideas Newt has came up with that have been implemented in say 10-15 years? He never implemented many of his "fresh ideas" from his Contract with America for cripes sake. Newt Gingrich shifted the Congressional balance of power to the Republican Party for the first time in 40 years in 1994 and for that the Beltway Press has given him a special place in their hearts and cameras for eternity.

There are ideas and there are ideals. Big difference. Newt is full of ideas and some may actually stick to the wall. Like the state quarters he pushed.

I think there are still many smart, reasonable Republicans out there, but they are hiding right now as the Limpdog pitchforks-and-torches mob of drooling thugs is roaming the political landscape, looking for Moderates to immolate.

I totally agree with you. But why are they silent and not engage the president in policy discussions. It would force them to tell the Coulters and Limbaughs and the Hannity's to shut up. And close down FOX for restructuring.

I disagree with Scarborough. I think that Newt is uniquely positioned to be the GOP attack dog, precisely because he ISN'T a likely presidential candidate. He has so much baggage in his personal and political life that he'd be an ideal presidential candidate - for the Democrats! Like the guy with a terminal disease, he can say or do whatever he wants.

            So you actually understood
gingrich, comments are always negative whenever someone a so-call liberal makes a statment.
as something that made coherent, logical sense? As something that had a message that just had to be said?

The grammar was the least of his problems. He has a serious deficiency in clear thinking and the ability to express himself.

Also, I don't know if I disagree with him or not, since he didn't say anything. It would be like disagreeing with an inanimate object.

How about that, I got a drive-by thumbs-down. Probably from someone who saw the picture next to my name and liked the thumbs-down picture. I doubt if they actually read the comment, or could.
