Saber rattling is great when you don't have to make the decision. Newt needs to crawl back to his cage and keep quiet. Most people are not going to pay attention to someone who is out of touch with the issues of today.

Honestly, Newt made sense* to me throughout most of this clip. I'd like to see the repressive North Korean regime ended and Newt didn't seem to be angling specifically for war (at least in this segment).

That said, "regime change" is an actual policy position that is fraught with danger, effectively curtails diplomatic options, and can easily end with war.

And what was that bizarro San Francisco crack O'Reilly made at the end?

*Okay, I need a shower now.

Well, Newt, you know the old saying: "Regime change begins at home."

      Just ask your fellow GOPpers in 2006 and 2008 . . .

Wow. You know... at least the LIE about Iraq made regime change there somewhat defensible. Now apparently a couple of journalists being jailed is enough.

Two points, and these come from our own military analysts:

      1) NK has enough conventional weapons commissioned along it's southern border to level Seoul in about 15 minutes.

      2) NK can also hit Tokyo.

Somehow I don't think our key allies in the areas (the one's who's interests we are protecting in the name of our own interests) wouldn't be too supportinve. I don't think the global or US economies would react too well to that either. Of course that'd be just fine with Newt: he'd then just blame the failure on Obama. That must be why he has nothing but bad ideas to offer. Either that or he's just an idiot.

I wonder if this is the talk that people want to hear in the Rep party. It very well may be. But instead of torture, blood shed, invasions, killing, and brutal force, there will be strategy implimented here. Watch the President's cabinet and the Secretary of State devise strategy and patience in this particular area. As a matter of fact, these journalist are American citizens, regardless of the fact that the Reps are angry that O'Bama has won the seat none of you have initiated even a conversation as to how we can resolve this conflict and the imprisonment of these women. Is is because they are women? You guys are really being exposed more often than you know! If they were men would you have galvanized around some kind of solution? We can go back in history gentlemen. Now................Let's see some American concert for these journalist. My regrets goes out to Lisa Lang who is an excellent journalist and the family of the other lady who is captive with her. If there is anything .............. I look forward to the Reps stepping up there game about this issue SOON!

Well, it's easy to talk tough when you have no authority and no responsibility (not that Gingrich ever showed any sense of responsibility when he did have authority).

But why is this flabby gray blowhard all over the place all of a sudden? I guess Cheney as co-president finally wore thin, so the establishment has now anointed The Fat Salamander for the role?
