Yeah, my comment, insinuating that Cupp is on Fox News because of her good looks, is right down there next to flat out calling a woman a wicked witch. Give me a break.

Any chance this right-wing hack would be willing to list all these so-called left-wing attacks that the Obama group supposedly demanded be put out there?

Or this is just another in a long line of crack-pots being given a venue to spew their garbage as if they had the credibility...

Then again... this is The Sean Hannity puke-fest hour... so credibility is not much of an issue!

Cupp the dimwit: "[Obama] allowed his surrogates in the media and Hollywood and everyone else on the left to do this dirty talking for him. He didn't come out and say, 'enough is enough, I don't want to win this way, I have two daughters and I don't like the way that this woman or Cindy McCain are being treated and talked about.'"

Oh Really? You're sure about that, you dimwit?

"Let me be as clear as possible. I think people's families are off-limits, and people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president."

Obama said reporters should "back off these kinds of stories" and noted that he was born to an 18-year-old mother.

"How a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn't be the topic of our politics, and I hope that anybody who is supporting me understands that's off-limits."

I have posted that very same quote probably a half dozen times in response to idiots who insist on attacks on families.

It must be frustrating to an Obama supporter (the ones with integrity ) to see so many ignore his wishes and display of class.

Sarah Palin also displayed much more class than Letterman and all the hypocrites on the left who defend Letterman's conduct.

Letterman is often funny and always smart but as far as I can tell he never had any class. Its one of the reasons I never liked the guy. It is ludicrous to blame Obama for him or anyone else trying to make jokes in the media. I dont know why this would be frustrating to an Obama supporter. These guys are going to be the way they are going to be. Not as bad as Limbaugh, Coulter and Savage but still always going for the cheap laugh. Are the screechmonkeys I cited above frustrating to conservatives? Or are YOU a hypocrite that only wants to criticize the LEFTS churlish behavior and ignore far worse from the right?

excuse me, ms cupp... obama repeatedly pointed out that the candidates' families should never be involved in a political campaign, and he never did involve mccain or his family. it was coming from the media, and you cant tell them what to do. you only dictate your own actions. furthermore, its interesting that you ignore the relentless and unwarranted attacks against obama (especially on fox news) and his family, and using your logic, why wasnt john mccain saying "i dont want to win this way", not to mention all the remarks people were making in the mccain/palin rallies. granted, mccain spoke out against a few of his supporters on what they said about obama, but it obviously didnt help.

Mccain spoke out against VERY few of his supporters ill remarks. Usually for show after the publicity on how mean his side was getting and he instigated a lot of them himself. You are a kind, generous, Honest person to give him credit for doing so.

Obama did not point out repeatedly that families were off limits, I believe he only did so once or twice. And it was not only the media who participated, if you recall, Barney Frank said they were fair game, remember him, the guy involved with a male prostitution scandal operating from his home. And I would sure love to know of the "relentless and unwarranted attacks " on Obama's family by Fox.

And while you claim that McCain's attempt to halt the attacks didn't work, you neglect to mention that it is the left that is perpetuating that type of behavior now. As I have pointed out before it is a shame that his supporters have not learned from his class.

When Obama's kids were in school or home in bed Sarah Palin was dragging hers across stage, even her infant late at night. Day after day, night after night. I am sure Obama had more on his mind during the campaign than making a daily public announcement not to make jokes about Palins family regardless how much she parades her unwed, teenage, pregnant daughter, infant and other kids in-front of everyone. "Look everyone like me my family is pretty, vote for me and my husband Jethro Clampett is handsome too, vote for me, oh and see how pretty the young boy that impregnated my lovely daughter is, vote for me. Why were these kids not in school or home in bed instead of making them vulnerable targets? One or two appearance would have been enough.

Cupp on Letterman's references to Palin and her family: "I blame Barack Obama"

OK -- lemme see if I've got this straight:

In the last 48 hours or so, Barack Obama has been responsible for

      - a white supremacist and holocaust denier killing a security guard

      - a hard right right to lifer killing a doctor

      - a late nite talk show host joking about a failed veep candidate

For someone wingnuts like to claim "isn't very smart," he sure does have a lot of control . . .

I thought it was always about speaking softly, but carrying a big stick? That's how TR approached it.

These a-holes keep thinking that speaking to people who we don't get along with means sitting in a circle and singing kumbayyah (sp?), but it doesn't.

Talking to your enemies is never a bad thing. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer I think is another apt phrase that these blowhards are forgetting.

And how come we don't hear conservatives yelling and screaming about how Voight should shut up and sit down, after all, he's just an actor, what does he know (the right's favorite line against liberals from Hollywood)?

I say, let him speak, speak loud Mr. Voight. You sound just as dumb as your talk radio brothers in arms.

        Utterly amazing isn't it?

As Pete posted above, Obama, even when being attacked from the Palin camp repeatedly and often, came out as being classy, and saying that the families should be left out of the whole equation. Obama never attacked Palin personally. What a crock that this woman is peddling. I mean, somehow Obama is now responsible for Letterman's "comedy"?

Yeah, OK. Let me know how you can tie Obama to that one. Because, you can't.

Now if Obama had come out, and had disparaged Palin recently, I could see the point, or if he had at all, I could see maybe a slight point. But he hasn't.

I remember during the campaign John McCain blamed everything on Obama, and I mean everything. Something is terribly wrong with the white people who have a problem with a black man in the oval Office. For one thing they are not rationale, illogical and nonsensiable and worse they speak out of hate and ignorance.
Many of them are not challenged for the ridiculous, outrageous things they say. In this case "I blame Obama". Why do such remarks go unchallenge? Do TV hosts not have a responsibility to tell them how crazy they sound?
This is the kind of talk that lead deranged people to go out and commit a crime and worse kill people.

More fake outrage. I'd give Letterman the benefit of the doubt as far as not knowing that it was only the younger daughter at the ballgame.I'm assuming that the older one wasn't there, right?

Palin was on TV this morning, adding to the faux outrage, even inventing a fictional double-standard. She cited Obama's remarks about keeping families/kids out of the mix (obviously by the respective camps during the campaign), and is trying to play the hypocrisy card using a late night comedian.

Palin put her goofy family in the spotlight through her own ego. Sure, the GOP recruited her, but her own delusions of adequacy in accepting allowed the country and the world to see the Palin Bunch in all their dysfunctional glory.

Taking the "family" element out of it, the phony feminist reaction is pretty silly too, the blustering about treatment of young women in general doesn't seem very genuine when you consider that Monica Lewinsky wasn't much older than Palin's daughter at the time she made national news and all the comedian's lists.

...trying to play the hypocrisy card using a late night comedian.

I meant to add to this, that by the concerted effort by the right to connect all the media with the Dems, continuing the liberal media myth, any remarks by anybody in the media, whether news or entertainment, can be assigned to the Democratic Party and Obama.

Palin is just slimy, even on the politician slimy-scale.

                Hi JJ,
Have you seen the other angle the wingnuts are trying to work on this? That the "Slvtty Flight Attendant joke" is insulting to flight attendants in general? I suppose "Mad Scientist" offends them as well. And "Bad Cop".

                so desperate, so stoopid.

My, the RW nutters have become such PC victims with astonishingly delicate flower sensibilities relative to their ability to dish it out .

Exactly. Palin robotically read off the Republican talking points which would easily have been slander in a non-political setting, then got all huffy when Katie Couric actually asked her a follow up question.

Simple Sarah is a nitwit and a liar. She gets no sympathy from me.... or empathy, either.

Don't forget. Those were some easy, big, slow softball questions.

I mean, "What news sources do you read often?" kind of easy questions.

And that was after a month of prep before they let the media even talk to her, or ask her anything.

Palin did herself in, not the media. It's amazing to even have someone say that.

lol...the reicht wing and their selective amnesia...

Since, they are so christianly and all, they might understand it better this way.

You reap, what you sew...(paraphrased) signed J.C.

You know kids of candidates were off limits until.....

Someone labeled the President's daughter as the whitehouse pet...

After that, even a certain Presidential candidate got in on the act by saying a vulgar joke about the president's daughter during a fundraising event. Maybe MM can find those quotes and videos.

The daughter was Chelsea clinton. She took a whole lot of abuse from the reicht wing during the 90s. They seem to have selective amnesia.

Maybe, the "librul" media needs to remind them just who opened pandora's box.

No it is not Obama's fault. It is a simple matter that his supporters just don't have anywhere near the class that he displays. He promised a new civility, he forgot to tell his stormtroopers.

TRANSLATION: We on the right simply CANNOT understand why Obama's supporters, whom we labeled "unpatriotic," "unamerican," and accused of having a mental disorder ["Bush Derangement Syndrome"]if they dared criticize GW Bush, jokingly or not, can't simply sit quiet and not respond whenever threats are made on the President's person, a joke is made on his racial identity, or disparaging comments are made about his family.

WOW. THAT was dumb. Obama can not control the actions of his supporters and was never under the delusion he could. Promising a new civility is promising to do what HE can and he has kept that promise. You have GOT to be kidding me. YOUR side has Coulter and Savage. Two of the most hateful organic creatures known to man do you REALLY want to snivel that the left is so mean to your guys? REALLY?? Clean up your OWN house before you whine so piteously about our side
