Did you notice that Rush had to read all those physical activities from note cards? More proof that he is completely unfamiliar with them.

since obesity is way up there on health care costs RIGHT NOW...

if rush gets in shape then he'll carry the cost to his later years. which of course means we'd have to listen to him longer.

that's a tough call. i say get that man a bucket full o' fried chicken.

There is such a thing called preventive medicine which I think can be emphasized more, especially in the field of fitness and athletics. ATCs get so little of the recognition they deserve out there.

Limbaugh's still lost on the issue - I think bouncing around before a camera and playing golf is the most exercise he thinks he's capable of.

Yeah, I didn't think Limbaugh was that far off-- though his hyperbole is dumb. It is true that many under-40s get injured now in expensive sports-medicine ways that never happened 30 years ago.

Of course, the 50-year-olds are not dying as quickly, either, so maybe exercise DOES raise health insurance rates !

        Hey, Rush is right!

But the Republican plan to save Medicare, Medicaid and the health care issue is for all the old, poor and sick to drop dead thereby saving the use of the health care system, reduce welfare and solve a few other social issues.

Just to add fuel to the fire...

Younger people are getting injuries that didn't appear until later in life. Many young pitchers in youth baseball are getting Tommy John surgery in their teens where that type of injury did not appear until later in life. USSA league's that run year round, don't give growing kids bodies enough time to heal and these types of injuries are happening earlier in their careers.

Rush makes $50 mil a year...He just spews this garbage to get people all riled up.

In regard to exercise; El RushBlow curls large amounts of Hilbilly Heroin(Oxy) and Viagra on a regular basis. Can you imagine the workout that his jaw muscles get after poppin' pills, rambling on for 3 hours a day while suckin' on big, fat cigars?

Olbermann is as worthless in his own way as Rush. If you enjoy trivializing issues with a regular dollop of misogyny, KO is your man.
On sports, he could be manly and criticize young girls, but an ostensible news program, not a chance.

As an overweight person myself, I always feel much better when I start and stick to an exercise regime. I think education + better health care would have helped me out a lot when I was younger! Moderate exercise does not result in chronic pain (but hosting a radio show apparently does require tons of pain killers.) The original clip of Rush, really shows his insecurities.

Limbaugh might be correct here. I have seen the clips from GW Bush falling off his SEDWAY and also his mountain bike, along with losing his battle with a pretzel.

We're all burdens on the health care system, but the healthiest among us are not burdens for the reasons that Drugbaugh cites.

Instead of passing earlier in life from obesity or smoking-related causes, people who are healthier and live longer can still wind up with the diseases of old age like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, arthritis, osteoporosis, etc.

Unlike Drugbaugh, I won't pretend to know which lifestyle ultimately puts more stress on the health care system, because I don't.

The gist of Limbaugh's point is that people who engage in activity sports cause more burden on the healthcare system than those who don't. A stadium of 50,000 people getting fat eating corndogs watching a football game, drinking Pepsi or beer, with millions more at home doing the same comes to mind. The way he flails his arms is indicative of the argument itself. He's flailing around trying to justify the fact that he's
overweight and unable or unwilling to change. Unless he considers Arm Flailing a sport, he obviously doesn't get much exercise. He should do more mental exercising too, he could loose some of the mental fat that weigh down his attempts at thinking, rather than just reacting. It always amazes me that someone so fat can be so narrow-minded.

Does Rust Limpballs realize what he's just done to the entrepreneurs and other businesses in this country? His "legions of followers" and dittoheads, by following his advise, will not be buying sports equipment, paying to join leagues, going out together after the game to celebrate, not buying home gym equipment to help them stay physically fit for their sport of choice, not buying sports clothing such as jogging shorts and running shoes, not buying aspirin to help with the day after aches from being out having fun on the court or field, etc. That hurts our economy and so hurts the U.S.A. Way to go Rust. Why are you promoting ideas the drive us further into the economic abyss? Why are you blaming non-drug addicted, non-corpulent, healthy, patriotic Americans for excessive medical bills, and then calling them schoolyard names like 'freaks'? Blaming, name calling and hating on our fellow Americans, finger-pointing, puttting forth ideas that stifle our economy during a time of economic crisis, and generally hurting our country and it's businesses. Why do you hate America so much?

there is nothing that affects health more than being overweight. it's the long term problems that cost the system the most. we are raising a generation of kids fattened by wal mart soda. in general, it's the red states that are the most overweight.

Oh, I do both. And I find that Keith Olbermann is highly superior in every way to virtually everyone on Faux News and every single right-wing wacko talk show host to whom I've ever listened. And that includes Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham, Michael Reagan, G. Gordon Liddy, Glenn Beck, and Michael Savage.

I admit, I'm a big fan of Olbermann, and I rarely miss the show. But I'm not sure this is "Worst Person" material. I might have said so a month or so ago, but then he began his "WTF" segments, for which I think this is much more appropriate.

Honestly, I'm just not sure what to say about this other than that; it makes no sense. To say that people exercising hurt themselves more than any other people, and enough to actually put a strain on the health care system just doesn't make sense, even for Limbo's usual untenable grip on reality.
