Good thing that Henry Hill... er Glen Beck and Bill Orally are here to set us all straight on the issue on whether water-boarding is torture or something to be ridiculed... safely... from an armchair generals distance!

Way to be professional boys! Especially after Man Cow Mueller finally put this issue to rest (not that it was necessarily necessary) a couple weeks back.

I wonder if these ass-clowns (including Sean Hannity) would ever be willing to.... oh... nevermind

These two morons obviously haven't bothered to familiarize themselves with the story of the Uighurs and their years-long ordeal. They're resigned to simply joke about it. There's nothing funny about what happened to the Uighurs, yet to these oblivious, ethnocentric ***holes, it's fodder for another Fox News comedy bit.

So we see pictures of the Uighurs apparently "living it up" in Bermuda and cracks about how "ridiculous" it is. What we don't see pictures of is what they've endured at the hands of the Bush Administration for 8 years. I'm sure if Beck saw that, he wouldn't be so quick to want to endure the same thing in return for a job in Bermuda.

Not all of the Uighurs have gone to Bermuda. Some of them were relocated to Albania or other European countries willing to resettle them. For their own safety, they cannot be returned to their home in Xinjiang, China, out of fear that they will face persecution from the Chinese government. They will likely never see their wives and families ever again.

Thanks, Pete. I hadn't had the chance to look up very much info on the Uighurs before now.

I have heard them mentioned in the media as terrorists being coddled with a Bermuda vacation, and have even seen at least one consucker at this site buying the media spin and terrified of them.

I realize that was the plan of the Bush administration, to portray anybody detained at Gitmo as a convicted terrorist, and I'm not very happy about the Obama admin. not being forceful enough in resolving that embarrassing moment in American history, bit I get the feeling that the mistakes of the Iraq war and Gitmo are going to take many years to correct.

Hey! Why did I only earn one thumbs down from the drive-by troll, while others got 2 or 3?? I feel insulted.

        Thank you Pete,

I watched the video... I thought I had a pretty good idea as to what America had become under Bush/Cheney and Republican rule...

Knowing that that is still happening in our names... scratch that... that it happened at all in our names... is singularly the most embarrassed I have ever been about my country!

I won't even get into how seriously pi$$ed off I am about our corporate owned media... let alone Glen and BillO as it pertains to this thread.

This country's citizens and the Democrats that are in charge of it right now... had better find a way to make amends so that this kind of crap never occurs again in our names.

I sometimes weep for this country, not specifically for what it has done in the past (and present), but for what this country could have always been and isn't...

That's real funny, boys. How nice that just naming types of torture makes you giggle.

Funnier, though, would be to actually imagine a restaurant co-owned by Beck and O'Reilly. Actually it's not so far fetched, since O'Reilly has been fantasizing about the hospitality business in the Caribbean for a while now. And who can forget what an expert O'Reilly is when it comes to observing and evaluating restaurants? Oh what a wonderful menu it would be, featuring delicious homemade motherf***ing iced tea, inappropriate falafel, and intravenous cabernet sauvignon.

Chef Beck would be on site to cook up his daily Crocodile Tear Soup. And of course Beck will help develop new and embarrassingly clumsy gimmicks for the restaurant, like his 9/12 Chicken Dinner Project: if you and your friends share Glenn's 9/12 Chicken (9 fried chicken breasts and 12 thighs made with 9 core value herbs and 12 principled spices) just 11 times at 9 o'clock each day, on the 12th day at 9pm you'll get one free. And then you can be that person you were on 9/12: the person who felt such tragic loss and mourning that nothing would fill up the emptiness inside except for delicious fried chicken, followed by your choice of You Are Not Alone In A Cone Ice Cream or the Brie Surround Them fruit and cheese plate.

I was typing a post in word to transfer it over -- God, I miss the proof screen -- and just happened to hit refresh before posting. I see many of us feel the same about the Lucille and Ethel-like team of Glenn and Bill.

I was going to say they're more like the team of Julius and Ethel, but realized that wasn't fair to Julius and Ethel.
