Today, my friends, we turn our attention to the latest revelation from Judge Sonia Sotomayor. It appears that Ms. Sotomayor, the model of diversity and inclusion, has some explaining to do regarding her membership in a club.

Not just any club -- a club whose members are all female. In documents provided to the Senate Judiciary Committee, the honorable judge wrote this: "I am a member of the Belizean Grove, a private organization of female professionals from the profit, nonprofit and social sectors. The organization does not invidiously discriminate on the basis of sex. Men are involved in its activities -- they participate in trips, host events and speak at functions -- but to the best of my knowledge, a man has never asked to be considered for membership." (I don't blame 'em!)

The group includes over 100 high-level executives and upper-crust women from the corporate and government worlds.

However... the Code of Judicial Conduct bars judges from belonging to any organization that practices discrimination based on race, sex, religion, or national origin.

I wonder. If Justices Roberts or Thomas belonged to an association that discriminated against females, if Justices Alito or Scalia were discovered to have membership in a group that excluded females, how would liberals have reacted? Would they have forgiven the judges' involvement in an "old boy's club"? Or would they have erupted in a full-blown, five-alarm rage?

Safe to say, any conservative in this situation would find their nomination dead in the water. Clubbed -- like a baby seal. No question about it. I think I'm going to send Sotomayor, and her club, a bunch of vacuum cleaners to help them clean up after their meetings.

Justices Roberts, Thomas, Alito and Scalia all belong to an exclusive group that discriminates against intelligent people.

(For the non-intelligent people: that means they're all "conservatives".

It's the victim mentality thing. You know, the one about how if a conservative were to me a member of a males only club thats dedicated to preserving white male power, they would be excoriated so it isn't fair for a female to belong to a ladies only tea party where they sip tea and eat scones...

And of course, they always, and frequently seem to forget where the power of the country resides. There are still male clubs, Masons for one. Elks. And so on.

Once again... Rush is an idiot.
He provides the quote that defends the club as being discriminatory... but assumes that it is.

And once again let's not take a look at what the foundations of the club come from. The Belizian Grove is named to mock and draw attention to the Bohemian Grove.

I new nothing about it until I looked it up on the internet... it took all of 2 minutes... It's a Mens Only private Club.

The membership list has included every Republican U.S. president since 1923 (as well as some Democrats), many cabinet officials, directors and CEOs of large corporations including major financial institutions. Major military contractors, oil companies, banks (including the Federal Reserve), utilities (including nuclear power) and national media (broadcast and print) have high-ranking officials as club members or guests.

Rush makes no sense. He is FOR the right to belong to private clubs, a club he acknowledges is OPEN to men but appeal little to them, but he's AGAINST Sotomayor because she did?

He ones again proves he is the biggest fool on radio. Well, when Sean Hannity isn't on, that guy is the dumbest of the dumb.

It appears that Justice Alito is a member of a Roman Catholic fraternal organization known as the Knights of Columbus. See "Famous Knights" at http://www.kofc-ca.org/?t=t_abouttheknights.

To be eligible for membership in the Knights of Columbus, one must be a, "... practical Catholic gentleman, who is 18 years of age or older."

"A practical Catholic is one who is in union with the Holy See and who practices the precepts of the Catholic Church."
