      Regulation is not American?

If there is one thing (out of several other concepts) that must be considered American... it is the idea of America saving capitalism from itself with regulations!

By now, anyone with an extra brain cell knows that capitalism is a monster that feeds of itself if left to its own devices.

All regulations do is allows capitalism to do what it does (makes profit) by not allowing all the profit to end up in one place and instead be spread about a bit more evenly.

I know, I know... spreading the wealth, sounds very liberal. Well, anyone who believes or thinks that the vast majority of people would not be willing to bust ass for a fair shake at all that profit, is either brain-dead or is part of the corporate ideology!

As for Steve Douchy... your doing a dimwits job at speaking the talking-points... Fox-Noise deserves you.

I cannot think of a better non-flamboyant, plebeian mouthpiece who best represents and speaks to the the ignorant and shallow regular folks of the Republican right than Steve Doocy. Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, et als...those guys are stars. Doocy is just a regular guy, like his viewers, who is so dumb it hurts.

Maybe it's become "Not very American" to watch the "Three Stooges" on Fox News.

Did I actually hear them say something to the effect of, "...stop things that you may be in favor of, like OVER LEVERAGING"

Their arguments fails because they first say they aren't allowed to take big risks (meaning they can't reach the top), but isn't that how we got into this mess anyway?

Their (the Right) new thing (new to me anyway) is that Obama is going to put a stop to importing tires from China. According to the Right he is deliberately doing this to control or put co.s like Les Schwab out of business. They fail to mention that it is the Steele Workers Union that has PETITIONED the President to put a limit on the imported tires. What boggles my mind is that they do not mention how many U.S. tire manufacturing co.s have gone completely out of business & others have laid off thousands of U.S. workers because of the greed of big co.s buying their tires from China to avoid paying their employees a decent wage. Instead of admitting again how the obscene greed of the CEOs of these companies has done themselves and U.S. workers in. They spin it to "Big government taking over control of another American company."

Capitalism without regulation becomes Plutocracy, and eventually Feudalism.

The problem with these guys is that they think they are fightig for a "FREE MARKET." But thy're not! A FREE AMRKET relies on COMPETITION. And CORPORATIONS have no interest in competition. They all want to eliminate the compoetition and get as close as they can to a monopoy without triggering anti-trust laws. (Laws (regulations) that these guys would rather see eliminated apparently then ever actually enforced!) So having a FREE MARKET REQUIRES regulation! Otherwsie coportaions will be first in line to destroy the free market!

Free market no-regulation economics with frequent recessions, high unemployment and filthy-rich CEOs ... now THAT's AMERICAN!

Like Hannity has stated many times It's those filthy-rich CEOs that give him jobs, that he has never gotten a job from a poor schlep. Hannity is one smart guy as well. Not to mention Doocy and Hannity are the REAL AMERICANS.

Doocy must think we should go back to the way business was done before the Depression. People were bilked out of money, sold worthless stock and the stock values were manipulated as well as insider trading. In other words, Wall Street is given free rein to act like Bernie Madoff. Doocy doesn't have a clue.

Darn country I wanna get rich no regulation.....I can't even say that with a straight face.

They're acting like the field was level before the bailouts....it's American capitalism the field is never even. There is always a company that is bigger than you and will be backed by the dollars of rich contributes that you may not have.

      * If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.

For the 9,721,383rd time: half the bailouts you mention are Bushco. productions, plus you left some out (e.g. airlines).

That's all fine & good for you to state that, overmars, you would be very correct.

However, why the he** is this message not coming out strong and forceful from the WH & Dems in Congress?????

I don't get it either. The Dems have been handed a bonanza of sound bites by the crazies. Yet the Dems are not capitalizing on this, particularly with the 2010 elections coming.

You would think all these agencies would come together and pool their resources without the President having to be the one to make (or suggest) them to do it.I am pretty sure President Obama said he would like to see the over site committees or councils come to the table to share ideas and resources. They fail to mention that while doing their usual early morning bitch fest.
Doocy questions an equal playing field, since when did Wall Street play fair ? He also complains what is or isn't very American.Since when is using or emphasizing the term "czar" American? I realize fox isn't the only one but you couldn't help hear the shout out "Czar" I take it Doocy didn't memorize the memo this morning.
