My regular prayers require neither a place of worship nor a minister/pastor. The Big Guy and I get along just fine, one on one.

Does this mean that Barack Obama is secretly an atheist? I mean, isn't he already secretly something or other...like he's secretly a Muslim, or secretly hates America...?

I tend to agree with the poster on another thread who suggested that Obamas detractors in the right wing media, along with the numbskulls believe their paranoid fantasies, are insane.

I was actually disappointed in Fox for not throwing in a question like, "The President and his family have not found a new church yet. Is he biding his time before announcing his chosen place of worship... of Islam?

Of course . . . I mean, where else would he be able to celebrate Passover?

Cause, let's face it: There's NOTHING that screams, "secret Muslim" like celebrating a JEWISH HOLIDAY!!

IT'S BECAUSE HE ALREADY FOUND A MOSQUE!!!

Why wasn't that covered at all in this piece? I was actually disappointed in Fox for not throwing in a question like, "The President and his family have not found a new church yet. Is he biding his time before announcing his chosen place of worship... of Islam?"

Football players meeting in the middle of the field after a game is a reminder they don't have a place to pray regularly! WTF? How about Larry Sabato? He feeds the old Wright story that so damaged Obama that no one knew him in 2004 and he wins 8 million more votes than McCain in 2008. And this guy is political science guru? Keep toeing that line Larry. Rupert writes a nice check doesn't he?

And what about those zealot teachers and school principals who still insist on having school children say Christian prayers in public schools? (It's happening in Louisiana.) Don't any of the school children have a church to go to regularly?

I live in FL and in St Johns County in North East FL two songs have been challenged in court in the last school year. The songs were blatant Sunday school type songs. Of course the family who brouhgt the suit has been slimed in the letters to the editor in my local rag.

There should be a Chapel in the White House.

And wondering if maybe there already was one, I did a quick search and came up with this little interesting site...

      http://www.chapelinthewhitehouse.com/index.html

It's a not so current web page, noting that there is no Chapel in the White House, but that there maybe should be. It asks you to contact the White House about this, but I don't take that as a plea to complain, but just to suggest what seems like a good idea... it wouldn't take much to make a Chapel, any reasonably sized room will do.

I'm of a mind that it should have windows, large windows, and on the sunny (south) side... they don't have to be stained glass, but several panes of stained glass is nice, especially with sunlight streaming through them.

Anyway, joining a Church just to Pray sounds sort of dumb... you can Pray any place, but if you have a dedicated room that can pass for a Chapel of sorts, that's nice... the White house should have one... it's a nice quiet place to go, to reflect and gather your thoughts... President Obama could convert such a room in the White House with just a memo, in a couple of weeks and probably for just a few grand (sparse plain and simple is the preferred decor).

It should be noted that neither Reagan nor George W. regularly attended church while in the WH. George W. said he worshiped in the WH. I guess we'll have to take his word on that.

I wouldn't doubt it -- although he was likely referring to either himself or Cheney as the object of worship . . .
