What the...? Tony Danza doing dinner theatre? I know the republicans lost touch with the young folkes AGES AGO, but I didn't think they equally out of touch with the older set too! My god, who DO these people represent anyway?

(I know, I know... Rich White Men and Poor White Trash. Still: who among THEM is interested in Tony Danza doing dinner theatre?)

Is he a comedian by profession? It sounds like he's trying to be funny...

We've been arguing for years that conservatives aren't funny.

        Case in point...

I wouldn't label him a " conservative ". I always thought true conservatism was someone who interpreted constitutional law literally. Like for example to be president you must be a natural born citizen of this nation, not make up stuff like Hawaii was not a state in 1961.

and the only reason he considers himself a conservative is that bathing himself in holy water gets him a job for life, or so it appears.

Being a clueless fool harldy disqualifies one from being conservative. Lately it seems more like a requirement. If he claims to be a conservative, I'll give him cred. His idiocy, IMHO, doesn't deter from this point, it further demonstartes it.

I was just trying to redefine these idiots into a third party status like " POI " ( Party of Idiots ) separate from true conservatism.

Good luck with that. The way I see it, there's Democrats, Republicans and "True Conservtives." As I've ever heard "true conservitism" defined by one of it's adherants, I am more convinced that THIS is the truly irrelevant third party. No "true conservative" party (as you define it) will ever come to power. The closest things to that - 1994 and 2000 - saw those parties lose their way almost overnight. "True Conservatives" are destroying the GOP and driving moderates to the Democrats in droves.

Sorry - this: "(as you define it)" should have read: "(as I've ever heard it defined)."

If your idea of "true conservatism" is NOT Limbaugh, and NOT the Republicans, please let me know how you define it. It's not my place to assume your definition.

Recent history has redefined conservatism in direct relationship to liberalism, completely irrespective of the parties involved, democratic or republican. GW Bush thought ( or his leaders thought ) it would be good to divide up the nation , and the national discourse, into either you are with us of you are against us. Somehow that was translated further ( specially by FOX thru their employees ) into a further divide by open verbal warfare against those who questioned government action as unpatriotic. Wow, these guys almost succeeded. If there were truly smart people running this idiocy, they would have succeeded.

You are correct in terms of history (though I think it really started with Gingrich in '94, and Bush/Rove just took it to a whole bnew level) but that still soesn't tell me what your definition of "true conservativsm" is.

Are you saying that these guys were socially conservative without being fiscally conservative? Are you advocating only for more fiscal conservatism, or increased social liberalism to go along with it? Just curious.

The Troglodytes better tread softly on this topic. Old folks vote. If the Republicans alienate that segment of the voting public, all the Evangelical nutbags in the country can't save them.

I think we have to pay attention to these rubes, because they are, presumably, the "best" of the smaller-market Rush imitators. If this sampling is any indicator, it proves that the Talk Radio Market is dominated by morons and jackasses.

This, in turn, lends credence to my theory that Conservative Talk Radio does not dominate because of "superior content" as is so often alleged by our Conservative comrades.

I think he went in for a tummy tuck. He's lost a lot of weight lately. Olbermann gets all the credit for that, running that bouncy picture everyday, hurt Rush's feelings. Or maybe Rush is on a diet pill run.
