Beckel tries to pin Hannity down on his opinion of Ensign affair

From the June 22 edition of Fox News' Hannity:

Media Matters: The Palin chronicles
The Friday Rush: A series of conflicts
Contrary to media hype, Sarah Palin is very unpopular|

Ehhh...yeah. That's pretty consistent with Hannilogic.
Sean is very familiar with this organization, given that he had the former executive director on his show as recently as a couple of months ago (agreeing w/Sean that those pesky "enhanced interrogation" techniques Sean is so loathe to experience aren't in fact torture).
Good for Beckel for making Sean admit that Ensign should resign, and shame on Sean for pretending he doesn't know the senator's 'pro-family' stance.
But God is punishing Sean by making him think that his shiny hair looks remotely stylish, when in fact he's rocking a Howdy Doody 'do.
Mr. News
One of the other panelists had a good point too. He stated that it's foolish to say think that if you stand up for certain values that you must be perfect. That no one would stand for family values if that were the case.
I believe that's why the left went after Sarah Palin so hard during her daughter's pregnancy out of wedlock. No is or will ever be perfect. So criticizing imperfection is pointless.
And why didn't Faux Noise run with this story when it was brought to their attention? This Network continues to be remarkably silent about that matter...
Notice the B-roll of Ensign that Sean ran during the conversation? That wasn't something the control room ran spontaneously - it was cued up.
Hannity had Beckel on to say what he couldn't bring himself to say, and made it appear as if he was grudgingly agreeing with him.
That bit was totally orchestrated. The only thing missing was the string section.
He'd flunk his own "Man on the Street Thursday" schtick.
Here it is...Sen. Ensign is an adulterer who preaches sbout moral values and family values. Even using new math, old math or an abacus,
1. Is he a viable Presidential candidate for the 'value driven Republican party'?
I've made this test simple...is the answer YES or NO. If you need more time, you got it. Your professional "moral value" is on the line.
A Republican politician caught having an affair with...... a woman?? Talk about shocking!
I fully expect at some point for a (defender of marriage and outspoken critic of homosexuality who claims that equal rights to gay people will lead to bestiality) Republican politician to be caught having an affair or sexual encounter with an animal!
Sean Hannity (I have said this before plenty of other times) is the dumbest SOB on radio and TV yesterday, today, and tomorrow!
we are discussing the hypocracy of a man who purports to be a proponent of "family values" but cheats on his wife with one of his married staffers.
There's no outrage because it's false outrage, a wholly owned subsidiary of the nutjob radio gasbags.
Oh!! Look!!! A shiny thing!!
Someone is helping him raise money for his defense, while it's not something I would donate to, in the US, we are allowed to defend ourselves in court, and if a friend of his wants to raise money for him to defend himself, fine. Nobody is saying you have to contribute to the fund.
I love it when right wingers like yourself put out false equivalencies like this. Why is it false? You know why. Senator Ensign was a promise keeper, and one of the loud talkers about family values, and how Bill Clinton should have resigned because he had an affair, and now, Senator Ensign does it, except worse I think. With the wife of one of his staffers, and there also appears to be some possible monetary pay offs that happened (time will tell on that last point). Of course, the Senator's activity is super hypocritical, while the actions of Hiram Monserrate were just highly illegal, if convicted of it, which seems like he will be.
Also, there were members of the democratic party in NY that asked for him to resign. He also recently switched sides, to vote with the republicans handing control of the state Senate over to them, and then switched back again later to the democratic side of the aisle.
It's also funny, because folks like you bring up stories like this as if we're like republicans and will support whatever a democrat does, regardless of what he/she does. You're wrong.
I am sorry your personal relationships have not worked out like you planned, but don't expect politicians to fill the void in your personal life. It is the hypocrisy from politicans who make themselves out to be something religiously pure or holier-than-thou that makes it become a story. If you criticize a politician by saying he should resign because of a sex scandal in his personal life only to be caught cheating on your wife - that is a story.
Commitment has to mean something. If you want to cheat on your spouse in my humble opinion you are a pig and have no moral character. How do you assume my relationships have not worked out for me? I beleive in honor and cheating on your spouse is not indicative of that. What makes you think if someone is cheating on their spouse they won't cheat us as well? If they will cheat for lusts sake imagine what they will do for money or power.
