I saw this interview on Hardball today with Chris, and he was so "right". These Republican "Hawks" are stirring their pot for a great big pot of "chaos" and their followers are eating every bit of it. Yesterday too, on CSPAN "ALOT" of Callers said the same thing that Chris said today about these Republican "Hawks". Umph, umph, umph what a mess.

He and I generally agree on Iraq. He's one of the few TV pundits who still wants to know how the Bushies cherry-picked and exaggerated the WMD intelligence.

Since Congress and the rest of the Media don't seem all that curious, however, I guess we'll never know the truth.

We may still be able to find out the truth. If we keep the pressure on and Congress and Obama get the message.

          THANK YOU.

Maybe. But, if we can't even get the cowardly Blue Dog Democrats to support Healthcare Reform, I hold out little hope of Congress investigating Bush's Iraq War Lies.

They're all too focused on the next election to do anything which requires a little backbone.

I have to agree with Chris. We shouldn't even be in the middle east. However, so long as we are greedy with oil and so long as we have dying support for Israel. That's your cue, label me an anti-semite.

Matthews is a contradiction. He is often right with precise accuracy on many issues, like Iraq, Valerie Plame, coded racial messages against Barack Obama, and how generally destructive and dangerous the neo-cons can be. Then he goes and says incredibly stupid and goofy things about Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi or repeats some canard stereotype about liberals or Democrats and has that somewhat irritating yet still amusing laughing fit along with drool flying out of his mouth. Quite a contradiction, really.

      THANK YOU.

I have criticized Pelosi, Reid, and many other Democrats. I was talking about goofy conservative talking points that Chris Matthews often mindlessly parrots about certain Democrats. There's nothing wrong if Chris Matthews criticizes Democrats, but he often uses and has used canards frequently to make ridiculous and often times non-sensical remarks about Democrats. I'm sure that you're an "independent", that's the tactic nowadays to get any credibility when you try to criticize Democrats with your debunked talking points--identify yourself as an independent and say something to the effect of "well, I didn't like Bush doing it either." Either that or your just too embarassed to identify yourself as a Republican, which I can totally understand.

          THANK YOU.

I wonder if any of those Hawks ever served in the military?

It's so easy to talk the talk when you never wore the uniform.

I think that Chris is an excellent presenter but in this particular interview he stooped down. He should not lower his intelligence or resort to name calling because that is not the actual fight. He is being, himself, mislead and attracted to ignorance and that won't secure his challenge on the position of the conservatives. This mimicks racial tension to me. He has to make his point more academically and when you are interviewing women, no matter if they rub you the wrong way, you handle them with chilvary. I was offended by the harshness because this woman is conservative in a lot of ways and lady-like behavior is one of them. Even more so, she is very powerful. He had the opportunity to quiz her regarding motive and strategy but deferred to insult and aggression. We all make mistakes so this one I didn't agree with the style or approach. When addressing agenda and issues you can maintain courage and aggression without loosing candor. I LOVE CHRIS THOUGH!

I've never paid much attention to Chris Matthews or even watched his show but he is certainly correct regarding his assessment of this ongoing situation. No matter how president Obama handled this he was sure to be criticized by many on the far right. Would the GOP have us go to war with everyone that disagrees with us? President Obama could cure cancer and talking heads such as Limbaugh, Savage, Beck and so on would find a way to put a negative slant on it.

I don't want to hear that democrats or independents always did the same thing to president Bush. After 9/11 he pretty much had everyone behind him as we came together as a nation but he took that support and used it to get us into an unnecessary war that has killed over 4000 of our brave men and women of the military.
