While stating that the press conference question by the Huffington Post's Nico Pitney was "one of the tougher questions asked," Tapper said he doesn't "know all the details" and that he's "not defending how it was orchestrated or organized."

I'm just curious, Laura, has Barack Obama ever done anything that DOESN'T make him just like Hitler/Stalin/COBRA? Take your time.

      OT, but I couldn't resist:

      Argentina, or hiking?

Turns out, Governor Sanford was in Argentina, and not hiking, and while in Argentina, hooking up with another woman that was NOT his wife.

And another republican tumbles from their lofty perch.

And here I thought he was trying to one-up Ensign by appearing as Juan Peron in the bestselling porno "Put Out for Me, Argentina".

What just galls me about this is that he left the country on father's day weekend to be with his ho (I don't care what you think, any woman that knowingly sleeps with a married man is just that). He can apologize and say how much he loves his sons, but the chasm between his words and his actions speaks for itself.

        Sorry to run OT.

I find it hilarious that these Troglodytes who staunchly defended every excess of the Bush Administration are suddenly so concerned about the "tyranny" of the Federal Government.

It's like they fell asleep some time in 2001 and are just now waking up.

        Well, yeah. Once again, IOKIYAR.

They also ignore that Bush presided over the largest expansion of the federal government in our history. And who came in 2nd place in that one? Ronny old boy.

Meanwhile, Clinton balanced the budget, and ran surpluses.

They are pretty desperate for dirt when how a reporter got his question to the President is so outrageous to them. Pathetic. Since when did the White House not know who was going to ask questions. My god he looks at a list and reads names. This reporter notified the Huffington Post that if he go a chance to ask, he had a question from Iran. H.P. notified the White House of this, so they put his name on the list. Big deal, that's what's so outrageous?

The irony, of course, is that the Bush administration actually DID plant phoney reporters.

It was a tough question, but one that Obama has been quashing regularly since the Iranian protests began, that it is not the USA's role to decide the fate of Iran, and that the USA has no diplomatic ties with Iran, so who Iran decides to call its leader is basically irrelevant. I can see that to a Fox-lodyte the question sounds like a plant because Obama's answer sounded smart and informed, a miracle Bush could ONLY pull off with a planted question.

Honestly, the only flaw I have ever found in my fiance, Keith Olbermann, is that he dated this mess. Oh & the fact that he never calls me. I might have to switch to Jack Cafferty.

WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I'm gonna throw a temper tantrum because a younger person asked the best, on-point question during the presser. No fair. He asked a question some Iranians wanted an answer to. I wanna take my ball and go home! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

First of all Dana Milbank is a tool. I forgot why but, he was barred from Countdown with Keith Olbarmann because he came on with some story and when it was found to be incorrect he refused to come back on and recant it. Now, I read on the Huffington post yesterday that Nico Pitney wrote in his blog the day before that he was going to the Whitehouse press briefing tomorrow and if he got a question he'd ask one of the questions he's been getting from Iranians he's been blogging with during this unrest. Someone in the press office saw this and brought it to Obama's attention and he deceided that he wanted to take a question from Nico. Now, I saw today's press briefing with Rober Gibbs and he had to smack them all down as they repeatedly kept asking him if this was staged. He explained the situation and then went around the room asking each of them if any of them had ever come to him and told him what question they were going to ask the President in a news conference. They all said no but, they kept saying that the "perception" is that it was staged. Finally he told them that a highschool teacher once told him that there's perception and then there reality! He also said that it was a great question. They acted as if huffington post was just some BS blog. Gibbs then pointed out that Richard Engle was also reporting on twitter and no one questions his credibility!

I love how she cited Milbank's snarky lies. The real problem the WH media had with the question is that they still think readers, ie voters, do not take HP seriously like they take ABC and WAPO seriously. Someone forgot to mention that this is 2009, not 1989. The question was a tough question and that is why you never hear the question, you just hear "The liberal Huffington Post". What a joke these beltway types are.
