You know, except that socialized medicine is not even a part of the plan. Something tells me these jokers haven't even read about the plan he proposed, or what is actually being worked on.

Why are these guys so upset that everyone in the country might get health care anyway?

Because they're being paid to be upset.

Any kind of "Public Option" will slow down the gravy train so long enjoyed by Insurance Companies. It could also cut into profits for Hospital and Pharmaceutical corporations. These special interests own the GOP, and the GOP owns talk radio.

The opponents of HealthCare reform are defending corporate profits... period. They don't give a rat's a$$ about the deficit; they spent the last 8 years proving that.

          True enough. True enough.

Thing is, these guys keep talking about how competition is the key. A public option run by the government, isn't that, GASP! Competition?

          Indeed, it is.

But of course, we know when they talk of "competition" they mean only private companies and all.

You're right. The Private Sector has had decades to fix this problem, and it only keeps getting worse. So much for the "free market" solution.

It ain't just the GOP that special interests have co-opted. We have blue dog, conservative Democrats who won't even discuss single payer options.

We need to get these blue dogs out of the Party.

Because health care must be earned through hard work, and minorities and poor people NEVER work hard, they just sit around soaking up government checks and eating government cheese like the fat cat mice they are. Besides, they ALL have limousines and pools and are in fact rich enough to pay for health care but are too lazy to write out a check drawn on their vast laundered drug money accounts. And they hate rich people, which, as you will recall, is the class the poor belong to.

See, the world is so simple when you stop making sense.

Don't forget, those poor folks should be able to afford health care because they have a color TV, and an air conditioner. They can't be too bad off.

What upsets me is that nobody is asking the most basic question to our elected leaders...

"Do you believe that Health Care is a right of every American?"

The United States is the only industrialized country in the world where health care is referred to as a "benefit" and not a right.

In every other country, Health Care is a right, not a benefit. How did we stray so far from the pack?

If everyone in this country (right now 72% want universal health care) could agree that health care is a right of every American, then this debate would end. And those on the right can dutifully be called "UN-American"
