I think Mika has proven himself a real journalist over the last week.

If anything, MMFA has proven that these days bloggers ARE the real journalists. I'd trust something I read on a top-tier blog before I would trust the establishment media.

I think this is a big deal, but not for what the right wing is trying to call this... a setup?

If you listen to the explanation, it makes perfect sense and should be applauded that a website gathers questions from Iranians to ask POTUS!! Truly unprecedented.

President Obama knew that there was a question from the Huffington Post and that it was from an Iranian who is in the middle of this crisis... how is that a setup?

The right has to chill out and stop looking for conspiracies... besides, if you look at the text of the question, it's not exactly a softball question.

I fail to see what all the hype is about... The only contact and news coverage coming out of IRAN is through the internet like twitter and facebook and EVERY SINGLE NEWS OUTLET has been referring to that. Now this guy had questions from actual Iranians from those outlets. Now as far as I know Barrack never answered the question anyhow... So what the heck are we talking about?

I understand that you cant stage questions and all that but i think Obama was only trying to answer the people of Iran personally. But unfortunately we live in a world of ignorance and paranoia.

Of course Barrack isnt going to do anything (yet) in Iran. It would be career suicide. For one, the inauguration over there hasnt happened yet. Why butt in when so many other things could unravel. Heck, they might even have a revolution. So why waste the military and accidentally bomb and kill innocents. Its just plain stupid.

The "Whitehouse Press Corp" peppered Robert Gibbs about this today. Basically they went all holier than thou on him about Nico. I've seen him on Rachael Maddow's show several times before. He's Terrfic. Anyway, the press is just jealous because the President dared go outside of their little highschool group to pick someone with a question and perspective that they feel is beneath them. They got out husseled and outworked by an internet blogger and they can't handle it. Gibss even had to point out to them that Richard Engle, who was forced to leave Iran the day of the elections because his visa had expired, has been on every show on MSNBC,live in studio and is now forced to use twitter to get info out of Iran. Exactly! And nobody is questioning Engle's credibility. It's called Journalism. The Whitehouse "Press" Corp should try it sometime and leave the TMZ questions to TMZ!

That is precisely right. The DC media is incredibly insular and clique-ish and they HATE outsiders.
