There's a difference between understanding how unpopular you are from stupid things that were done and being completely ignorant and in denial about it because you're so full of yourself/it.

Who needs a foil hat with earrings like that?

What is the so-called right's obsession with who loves or hates America? America is about pockets of energy and city-states on a vast rolling plain. How can you "love" all of it when you can't even embrace it conceptually? Annie's pronouncement about lefties "hating" America has nothing to do with what the thought of America is. She is useless as a person with an opinion, because she discerns nothing.

These statements try represent the political divide as between small town values (neocons) versus the big city (liberals). The right wants to characterize the liberals as unAmerican and that only the neocons truly represent the country. Palin made such statements when she spoke of the real America and their so called small town values. This is pandering to the narrow minded base of the Republican party. They will continue to divide the country with their us versus them mentality.

MickD: "What is the so-called right's obsession with who loves or hates America? "

          >>>I think behind her rhetoric is an ethnic/religious bias. If you disagree with the nativist party, you are anti-American de facto because they ARE America.

MickD "How can you "love" all of it when you can't even embrace it conceptually?"

          >>>The Right doesn't love all of America as we define it, but since they don't see many of us as a legitimate part of America, they do in fact love all of America.

pags2: "These statements try represent the political divide as between small town values (neocons) versus the big city (liberals)."

          >>> IMO that's a way of getting around talking about the less politically correct ethnic/religious motivation they have. It happens that to a large degree the rural/urban divide politically is an ethnic/religious one at the same time.

You are correct that the divide is along ethnic and religious lines. What I find most disturbing is the partnership with Catholics. They were never a part of the Republican party until recent times. The Republicans have a long history of covert anti-Catholicism going back to Al Smith and the immigration laws in the 1920's.

Yeah as one myself I agree it's disconcerting that about half vote against their own interests, even more so in a way because the GOP just wants their vote and 'no lip boy'. Remember though that there has been a realignment where the GOP of today and the Dems of today are not the same as before the seventies. There is still anti-Catholicism and it's in both parties---then and now, but it manifests differently today.

(BTW in rereading my comment to you, I see it was ambiguous. I meant that it's away for the Right to get around talking about ethnic/religious motivations -- not you.)

I could hardly listen to a word she said tonight because of those fake eyelashes she was wearing.

But no Ann, we don't hate America. We hate behavior like you exhibit, and we hate that it's exhibited in America, but we don't hate America.

And it's your side which has expertise in projection, not ours.

It's a simple comment, but an oddly poignant one. After all, most of us don't hate America-- we just see a lot of things that need improvement. We see the difference between recognizing the faults in the system and hating the system itself. Recognizing that difference, I think, is how progress happens.

All I know is that Coulter and her friends hate the values that the constitution of this nation protects (except the second amendment, that one is the only thing they care about).

Since it would be silly to think that someone hates the soil, the mountains, the lakes etc that are contained within the borders of our nation, I assume that by "America" she is talking about the system of government and the rights and obligations that are conferred upon a resident here...

...and when you assume that, it's pretty clear who ACTUALLY "hates America" and who doesn't.

I'm thinking it's mostly people. They hate people who don't act or look like them. You know, frumpy looking white people who wear one piece suits to the beach and have white socks up to their shins. And then there's the women...

I remember five or six years ago when the GOP was riding high Coulter saying something on a local radio show to the effect that we have to get rid of Democrats. I wish I could remember her exact words but she said it seriously.

I wonder how amused you'd be if say Michael Moore were to go around the country talking up elimination of Republican.

When are idiots like Coulter and Hannity going to stop and realize that is not in the best interest of America to stick their nose in every countries buisness. Especially elections.

To watch them give Bush ( a man who won a questionable election in 2000) credit for the protesters in Iran tells you that everyone on Fox noise must be on some good stuff.

The invasion of Iraq by Bush has destabled that region of the world in such away that it will take decades and billions of American dollars to try and restore the damage to one of Irans biggest threats. Way to go George.

Now the right wing and Fox noise want Obama to make the same mistake. When will you guys learn?

Did any other nation get involved in the recount in Jebs state of Florida in 2000? No.

Bush deserves credit for sticking his nose in a place where it should never have been. Not in helping the protesters of Iran.

After all Iraq did not attack the United States on on 9/11.

All Coulter, Hannity and their ilk want is for Obama to insert himself into the Iranian situation and have it blow up in his face, so they can attack him for it. If Americans die in the process- either through the creation of more terrorists, or through actual military intervention in Iran, that's fine with them, because it gives them ammunition against Obama. That's ALL they care about. To hell with what's good for America. It's all politics, all the time.

She is stupid! There are no definate and 100% allies in a global market of supremacy and capitalism and domination. how is she to know that this idea isn't good to one's who we believe to be an ally and why are they so cocky. Do the NK's have advance tech? Probably because they push education in there society and interviewing dumb commentators. They push discipline and care for the elderly and family before they try to engage in race allegiance. SO, with that being said, How the F would you know Dumb A?
