I wonder if those other cable hosts ever had interns who were found dead in their offices, too.

I was wondering the same thing when I heard Joe make that comment. Someone needed to ask him who he was referring to. He was defending Sanford because he would have been in a worse situation had it not been for the Chandra Levy-Gary Condit case. Maybe he thinks people have forgotten that little episode. Talk about people who live in glass houses.

That'll be explained in his next book. Sure it will.
Should anyone ever ask him about this on his show, it would be great to see his reaction.

Could it be that Joe is playing it safe because he himself has or is actually cheating on his wife and that he suspects that he will be caught one day but does not want the negative mantra of being a hypocrite?

While I agree (and I'm a big fan of his) that Olbermann went over-board on his near glee over the Sanford affair, and yes, I think Joe was referencing Keith too, I would hope that those that get the loudest are the ones not actually doing any cheating themselves.

A republican, in this case Scarborough, does not "get" hypocrisy or at least they pretend not to. Trying to imply Olbermann cheats on his girlfriend (and therefore is 'just as bad') is a far cry (and a typical 'blame the liberal for what I did') from holding yourself out to be a champion of virtue, running for public office on the morals platform and then flying down to South America to pay your mistress a visit (perhaps on the taxpayer's dime) while leaving your wife and kids alone on Father's Day. It's apples and oranges, for crying out loud.

Neither Olbermann nor his girlfriend are married, where is the "adultery."

          Might be Ed
          [...]
So today I’m making my morning rounds on the blogesphere and came across a video on Media Matters posted a couple of minutes ago of Joe Scarbrough talking about certain TV show hosts on his network last night "gleefully" bashing Sandford. You can see the video

And I thought to myself... "hmmmm... gleeful??... That’s the same thing Todd Harris said yesterday about Ed."

Now maybe it’s just me but I think that Joe is still a little p*ssy about Ed taking him on a couple of weeks ago about Cheney, and not allowing him to push him around like he tried to do Chris Matthews yesterday.. (you can see the video HERE

Joe also canceled his appearance on Ed’s show after Ed smacked him around a bit that day. We all know that Joe has thin skin and is allergic to FACTS so I’m sure that’s why he canceled his appearance.

But then Joe upped the ante by saying that these TV hosts (including the ones on his network) shouldn’t talk because they live in glass houses.

"Neither Olbermann nor his girlfriend are married, where is the "adultery."

That's was my intended point... It seems I just did not spell it out properly in the above post.

But I do believe that Joe was referencing Keith when he said what he said about commentators "on this network"... which likely proves that Joe is the kind of conservative that thinks a boyfriend of a couple years (with no kids in the mix) cheating is on par with that of a husband (with four kids and more than 20 years with the wife) cheating.

      Let's see.....

Sanford is a close personal friend of Joe's.

Joe himself is an admitted adulterer, and the woman involved was found dead in her office.

I think it's safe to say Joe's got an agenda when commenting on this whole affair.

I was sure wishing someone on this morning's show would pose the question, "Gee, why do so many male politicians cheat on their spouses?" I wanted to see Joe's reaction to that question.

I think Joe was taken back by all of this. I sent him an email this AM saying There goes your Last best Hope.

Incidentally, if Joe's referring to Olbermann (and it seemed to me many of his comments this morning were directed at him), is he aware that Keith's not married?

It's impossible right now for Keith to be hypocritical about marital infidelity.

      Joe, on the other hand.....

When you build your career on so called "family values" it's not only proper, but necessary that the "family values" politician is exposed and held up to ridicule when they "sin".

These creeps are always waving their faith and their bible in everyone else's face and judging anyone who does not agree with their belief system. They've been oppressing others for too long and th only way this will ever stop is for them to be completly and totally humiliated.

I have no sympathy for these people. None.

Remind me.....what political office does Olbermann hold?

Nonetheless, it's amazing the pity and sympathy and outright defense the reich-wingers provide when one of their own is caught.

      Not cool Joe.

Never hint. That is considered a threat.

If you have a story to tell, tell it. or Zip It.

I watched Olbermann last night and I think his "glee" was more of a long winded news conference, a governot caught in a big time lie made earlier in the day to a reporter who then had to come clean. Not to mention yet another family value republican out cheating on his wife. Hypocrisy runs wild on the right and it just seems if MSNBC doesn't report it, it does not get reported.

Well if Joe was referring to Olbermann you can bet Bill O'Reily will all over it talking up the implosion at MSNBC. Of course he will never acknowledge that he got his information from that vile web site Media Matters.

Power has a lot to do with whether or not we indebt ourselves to the rules of integrity and duty. Do we need more ethics and moral enforcement is a topic I am sure no one will introduce because that would mean good vs. evil. You all would scream that Big Brother is invading our privacy when actually he might be protecting us from greed, abuse of authority, public trust violations,,and on and on and on. The staff of these personnel and elected officials sure as hell keep these attrocities and miscarriages well guarded. It seems like now you can get hired on your ability to shut up about scandal more than your educational and academic value.
