Snoop, I think you missed the point of gs425's challenge. You've been around here long enough to know how Wingnut Court works.

            1. Wingnut reads from crazy right wing propaganda piece.
            2. Wingnut adds crazy commentary agreeing with crazy opinions of propaganda piece.
            3. Gullible dittohead demands proof that crazy opinion is "wrong".
            4. Since crazy opinion is only an emotionally based "feeling", naturally it can't be proven "wrong".
            5. Dittohead imagines he's made a point.

Col., don't forget the alternate form of Wingnut Court:

              3. Gullible dittohead demands proof that Wingnut's crazy opinion is "wrong".
3a. Gullible dittohead gets FURNISHED said proof in the form of a link.
              4. Since furnished link does not lead to FOX, World Nut Daily, Newsmax, or Limpballs.com, gullible dittohead claims it is not a "credible source."
              5. Dittohead claims he's "won."

I say you're a crazed venus flytrap farmer who fondles vegetables in your spare time. Prove me wrong. By your own logic, you have to prove it, not me.

You see, just saying random ridiculous things doesn't automatically make them true, and the burden of proof is on the person making the statment. Rush isn't even close to being accurate and anybody who thinks he is, at best, not paying attention to reality. Obama's own actions prove Rush wrong. Figure it out.

What about college? Is Harvard in Kenya? Just becasue someone posts a column at the Right Wing American Thinker making this same argument does not make it true. I cannot understand why these "dittoheads" hang on every word he throws out on his radio show. He has failed in completing his education (He dropped out after two semesters at Southeast Missouri State University and one summer; according to his mother, "he flunked everything"), failed in three marriages, never been in the military, investigated for alleged violation Florida's doctor shopping laws (Prosecutors agreed to drop the charge if Limbaugh paid $30,000 to defray the cost of the investigation and completed an 18-month therapy regimen with his physician), addiction to prescription of OxyContin, three failed marriages... and this from knowledge "on loan from God"..

Winston Churchill is big magic for the Right in America. By showing apparent veneration for him, they tacitly are representing a connection to their Anglo-Saxon heritage. (This also catches up the Germanic element of the electorate also, as it's generally understood here that the English are mostly Germanic. The label Anglo-Saxon - two Germanic tribes - evinces that, even though the latest gene based research shows that 'Celtic' genes, not Germanic, predominate throughout the British Isles, including England. But it's perception that matters in politics, not reality.)

Obama's removal of the Churchill bust from the Oval Office was taken as an ethnic insult to the WASP as well as Protestant German-Americans who see themselves as the genuine Americans. It also showed Obamas' lack of fealty to their America.

By 'genuine American' I mean a legitimate American by virtue of ethnic ancestry and religion harmonious with the large majority of the original Americans. Not just an American citizen by virtue of birth or naturalization. Those who are not 'genuine Americans' are not really Americans at all. They are interlopers into the body politic whose opinions merit no respect. (BTW I consciously don't personally subscribe to this attitude as I'm not a 'genuine American' myself, and it's un-American in the broader sense. However it's imperative to understand how these people think, as come Election Day, their vote counts the same as anyone else. Very importantly, a large part, I'd say the majority, of the non-Right also think this way subconsciously, including elected representatives of the Dems/Left. And accordingly they will often demure to the first-class citizens on the Right, as they unfortunately see it.)

"We don't -- we can't imagine that we have elected somebody who really doesn't like the United States as it was founded." - RL, (from today's show)

So we have the removal of a statue depicting Winston Churchill removed from the Oval Office to be replaced by a bust of one of Obama's heroes, Abraham Lincoln.

WASP's and Protestant German-Americans??? What about the average Briton? What is the average Briton's view on America's high regard for Churchill to begin with? And how has it been affected by the removal of Churchill's statue in favor of that of Abraham Lincoln?

I think it was inappropriate to have any foreign leader's bust in the Oval Office in the first place. And I therefore think it's removal was the right thing to do. I think its' replacement with an American leader did go a long way in preventing it from being seen as symbolically anti-British. If he were to have not replaced it at all or if he replaced it with a bust of another foreigner, the suspicion of an intended slight would have more merit.

In my comment I addressed the reaction of Americans (as opposed to Brits) to the removal because IMO Limbaugh doesn't really care about how the Brits feel. He may feign interest in their feelings to further his domestic political agenda. I was critiquing Limbaugh and the Right, not the author of the article he was reading from in the clip or Anglo-American relations generally.

I am also aware that Churchill is better regarded here than in Britain.

Despite my own view otherwise, I can imagine how others might perceive it as a slight and therefore a sign of a diminished special relationship between the two countries. That Churchill is not as highly regarded over there as here could be immaterial to the Brits. In this context he might be thought of as just a proxy for Britain generally. Whether this was a slight or not and whether intentional or not is debatable, but Britain's clout around the world is weakened to the extent it appears Uncle Sam doesn't have their back - and that does matter to the average Briton, regardless of their view of Churchill.

Did you miss that part, just below the picture? To imply that Rush's words were quotes from the professor wouldn't have been merely confusing, it would have been incorrect. This is what Rush does, gets his followers all muddied up on the distinction between facts and opinion. But confusion is the dittohead default position, so not much more is expected of you.

'I call such frustrated and angry modern Africans who embrace various foreign 'isms' instead of looking homeward for repair of societies that are broken 'African Colonials'.'

Recognize that? That's Rush trying to pass off someone else's version of 'secular progressives'.

Not only is the summarization of the colonial period bad (The Brit's colonized all of Africa? Guess again.) but the idea that the Africans could simply forget the whole thing and go back to their 'cultural roots' is ridiculous.

'..those of us who know our history...'

        She's not one of them.

The story about the creation of Nigeria is wrong. 'Redistribution of wealth' had nothing to do with the colonial project. Ever.

'Lie to the people and tell them progress is being made even though things are clearly becoming worse.'

Two words; Mission Accomplished. The end of the Bush Administration happened more than 5 1/2 years after that. And American troops are still in Iraq. Obama has, in his 5 months, not said anything remotely like that. No 'Problem solved', no 'That's the end of that', no 'And how'. Once 5 1/2 years have come and gone, then right-wingers will be able to complain about any optimism Obama expresses.

The idea about the acquiescence of the West African elite in colonization is also wrong.

'..we've elected someone who's more African in his roots than he is American...'

That sounds to me like Rush's saying that African's can't be trusted. Never mind African-Americans, he just said that the woman who wrote the piece is untrustworthy.

GS425, this woman either isn't who she says she is or is bad at what she does.

      So lets see...

This women who is a first generation american learned about west african culture from her parents.

This woman then claims that what she learned from her parents shaped her politcal views. So therefore I guess the views her parents taught her are in line with her current politcal ideology. Also I guess all Africans from any part fo Africa share the same views (according to this women rush is quoting)

this women self identifies (at least according to rush) as a conservative. President Obama is a liberal

therefore I am left to draw one of two conclusions:

One: This woman is wrong about president obama because were her theory correct Obama would have wound up with the same world view as her as he was subjected to the same infulences.

If this is true then Rush was just coned into making himself look more like an idiot then usual (this is the most likley option)

Two: This women is correct about president Obama and that his views are infact in line with the same African views she recived from her parents. That would make Obama an closet conservative. (not likely)

If this is the case Rush has been so consumed by hatred and racism that he can no longer rationally view the world as he just attacked his own worldview. In other words Rush just made himself look more like an idiot then usual....same as the first choice

So the only conculsion I can draw from this is that Rush is a larger idiot then usual today

Sure, WhatImlost, when you subject it to that logic stuff, it doesn't really make sense.

I would only disagree with you on one point; It's possible that Rush isn't an idiot, any more than the person who wrote the article he's reading from. They both may be just doing their jobs, pretending to be idiots in order to convince their idiots.

Huh...Did I miss something? Wasn't Obama's mother from Kansas and when was he raised by his father? So which is it: Is he a despot because his father was from colonial Kenya or is he a Muslim Mullah because he spent part of his youth in a Muslim country?

It's past time for the Democratic party spokespersons to tie limbaugh to the Repubs & to make it stick. Enough with talking around the issue. This man is either loosing control of his mental condition, or he has already lost it. If the Repubs want to make him a spokesman for them, make them wear him around their necks. There is so much that he says that is totally out of the bounds of what would be considered normal conversation. His constant referance to bending over. Overt sexual talk, that should be totally off limits to a spokesperson for the Republican Party. Wake-up America. How long can we allow this type of behavior to continue

That was my first reaction. Chubbo was adamant that Obama wasn't really African at all - "He's an Arab!"

Or maybe that was "taken out of context." Or maybe "it was a joke!"

Some of you may be missing the point. It's not about the suggestion that B. Obama is more African, or that he's an Arab, or that he and God do not have a birth certificates. Quite simply, it's about the money. Limbaugh is smart enough to know that the way to a $400million radio contract is to continually throw red meat to his ill-advised, ill-informed, uneducated, narrow-minded dummoheads. Of course Limbaugh doesn't believe in the trash he vomits everyday. However, he knows by issuing nutwing statements like the aforementioned, or that Mark Sanford stole off to Argentina because he was so distraught by Pres. Obama's stimulous package, or that the racist/nazi that shot up the Holocaust Museum was really a left winger more like Pres. Obama than to the crazy right wing. The sad part of all this, is that it's not so much his audience that should be shamed (and shamed they should), but, rather it's the advertisers who have supported his crazy rhetoric by pouring millions into his Big & Tall Man's trousers. Red meat is the single unifying factor among the Right Wing talk show hosts...the more they throw out, the more they are immortalized by their ignorant minions. One only has to look at Glenn Beck. When he was on CNN his conservative rants were within the bounds of reasonable taste. Once he went to Fox and was informed on how to really reach an audience, he began throwing red meat out there and acting crazy like his other wing-nut family.

        >>>Yes and that's always pertinent in weighing these guys up. I think he deludes himself into believing some of it, but for those who've listened just a little over the decades, they'll have noticed many instances where it's impossible for him not know he's lying.

"...it's not so much his audience that should be shamed (and shamed they should), but, rather it's the advertisers who have supported his crazy rhetoric by pouring millions..."

Limbaugh: Obama is "more African in his roots than he is American" and is "behaving like an African colonial despot"

Good gracious -- these wingnuts have GOTTA get their stories straight . . .

First, Melanie Morgan says Obama isn't black enough, calling him
      "HALFRICAN". . .

Now, Limpballs is saying he's TOO black . . .

why is it....he has never been in the military, as we know it...to understand ours
why is it...he wants the government to own the auto industry..(hats off to Ford!,of course they don't want to be gov't run)
why is it...we have never seen a birth cerificate
why is it...we can't prove he was born in Hawaii
why is it....he wants the government to control the health care
by the way...has anyone read Ayn Rand's old book....Atlas Shrugged....it sure outlines what's happening to the world...

We have debunked all your false talking points many times before. If you don't already know this, then it's not our job to do the work you need to do.

But for people that might truly have those questions.

It's not necessary for a President to have been in the military to understand it. In fact, people who are inside a group may have biases that stop them from seeing the full picture, so it's likely better, in many cases, for a President to not be a member of a group he is overseeing.
Obama didn't have a lot of governmental experience before he ran for office. That's not a requirement to be good at the job, and there's plenty of evidence that some people with lots of experience who didn't become great Presidents.
He doesn't want the government to own the auto industry. He's said as much, and the USA doesn't own them today.
We have seen the Certificate of Live Birth. That's what Hawaii gives out, but they create that form from the data gathered from the state copy of the original Birth Certificate. On that COLB, it says he was born in Hawaii. There are some COLB that are given to adopted children that show them as Hawaiian citizens, but there are contemporaneous birth announcements in Hawaiian papers that show his birth in Hawaii in 1961. This is a non-issue.
He does want the government to control health care, but he's not going to try to get that. But he wants the system that works best for the American people. Right now we spend the most and get significantly worse health care, overall, compared to every other industrialized nation. Why do YOU want us to continue to provide inadequate care to many of our citizens and many of our children?

But yeah, you won't 'research' anything. All you had to do was do that on your own already. You've demonstrated your shortcomings with your questions.

wingnuts keep asking the SAME [already answered] questions over and over again?

Earth to mad hatter: repeating the same [already debunked] talking point(s) will not make them any more true, no matter how much you may wish it to be.
