Fox News doesn't even try to get its facts right.

Why should they when their main audience is the "Heart Land"

Kinda like the $40 to $110 an hour range that american union auto workers make! It's easier to keep your audience stupid if you report on their level and then say "we report, you decide". The slogan of stupidity...

Sadly, the "right" chooses to distort debate rather than have a meaningful one.

It's pretty sad when the "one thing" you know is wrong.

Also sad is that apparently the research and conclusion of a consensus of professional trained scientists (re:global climate change) apparently carries more uncertainty than an economic conjecture ($1241, right down to the nearest dollar) from a speculative partisan body. And if there truly IS one thing we do know, it's that economics has proven its ambiguity over the centuries.

The only bullet they have in the gun is to scare their viewers.

The fact is that the CBO says the cost per household is between $40 less (lowest 20%) to $235-$340 more for the top 60% income families. The average household is $165 a year.

So here's how the Right Wing mind works...

Average of $165 is not scary enough so let's make up our own number.

Even the number we make up isn't scary enough so instead of saying it's per household, let's say it's per person.

And if that's not scary enough, let's put some ominous sounding "Far Reaching Government Control" spin on it, although we really can't define it, it'll scare people.

Facts you make up are even more important than actual facts if you have a political axe to grind. As far as I can see, there are two primary forces at work in any political scene. One side uses a stick labeled 'Fear' and one side uses a stick labeled 'Hope'. I find I respond much more readily to 'Hope', though I wish the conservatives would hold their end up by raising LEGITIMATE concerns and problems with proposed legislation, whether it be healthcare or energy policy or the ongoing wars Bush started for fun and profit. By fabricating boogeymen to scare the electorate, the conservatives are actually delinquent in their duty as the minority party. Would someone please tell Colin Powell to get in the game, and -lead-! The GOP could desperately use some.

I don't even get remotely shocked anymore when the Fox-Noise clowns lie about something...

All these freaks know is how to be good little right-wing foot soldiers for their corporate masters... even at the cost of the only planet we have to live on!

The cost per year is estimated at what... about $250 or so per person??

ONE thing is for sure. If The Foxnewswhorehouse says it, the odds are very high they are speaking out of their rear ends and have no facts to back anything up except the usual lies, half truths and character assassination.

      Okay Brian...If a x b = c
      a = 0.44 and b = 365 What does c equal?
      .44 x 365 = 160.6 So c = 160.6

Even if that's per person per household, the average American household size is 3.19, that still only equals $512.32. I think they have a Magic 8 Ball that has been rigged with made up numbers and every day they just give it a shake.
