Off the Wall was his best album, despite record sales. That was under Carter. My point? Its pointless.

Exactly, Thriller was just more of a Pop/Crossover hit. His more heavily rotated songs are from Off the Wall.

Don't forget The Jackson 5, they did pretty good as well.

And Rush makes no sense whatsoever.

Great analogy, because Drugbaugh's ability to make a coherent, intelligent point flourished under Reagan, languished under Clinton and Bush, died under Obama.

Okay, so Ronaldus Magnus is the reason that Michael Jackson could sing and dance? It doesn't matter that music artists tend to peak in their late 20's or early 30's. Does this mean that President Clinton is to blame for Michael's alleged sexual abuse of children? And is President Obama to blame for a doctor that didn't know to put his non-breathing patient on the floor before beginning CPR? Oh, I know, Barack Obama ordered Michael's murder and made it look like a heart attack because he was threatened by this sad, lonely figure who became a prisoner of his fame and the ensuing hangers-on, and the insular madness that comes with it (them.) Maybe Rush is just wondering what his excesses will do to his own life expectancy.

Isnt Rush sort a president? seems to me that we had Reagan Bush Clinton Bush Obama, yet Rush only mentions Reagan Clinton Bush Obama....

      Wheres Bush 41?

also couldnt the same thing said about Jackson about Limbaugh?
Rose to fame under Clinton, Languished under Bush, and started to loose his grip on reality probibly leading to the death of his career at some point in the next 7 years under Obama?

not trying to say that Obama will kill Limbaugh's career but you know facts are facts.....

And don't forget that under Bush that 4,200 American soldiers died, 30,000 maimed for life, 300,000 needed medical help, 1,Million ++++ deployed; 1,Million Iraqis dead; 4,Million Iraqis displaced. Iraq itself destroyed and still in a mess.

Michael Jackson also had huge success during the early 70s when Nixon was president, the US economy was awful, we had an unjust war that had dragged on far too long...

But that doesn't really fit Rush's narrative, so let's just pretend Michael Jackson was completely unknown before Thriller came out.

What's interesting to me is that even people on his own staff/in the studio can't believe he said it. (Right? Isn't that who he's responding to when he keeps saying "you want me to say it again?")

This is even more pathetic than his usual diatribe or "diahreatribe" as it were. Will this man ever embrace any real issues? Anyone who is a fan of his needs to check the pertinence of the subject matter he endorses. There is never any real substance and this is exactly how he likes it....long-winded and wishy-washey. This does of course help to keep his angry fans fuel fired up while at the same time getting ratings, controversy and his favorite..... your money.

It's amazing that Limbaugh can give psychological wedgies to progressives who view themselves as "enlightened".

If he is truly as stupid, and ill-informed as you believe he is...ignore him.

Throwing hissy fits and profanity laced, hate-filled invectives only show that he is getting to you.

Wow, what an incredibly relevant point by "America's Anchorman"! What would we do without his brilliant, objective viewpoints? Of course, Jackson's 80's popularity had NOTHING to do with the fact that 1) he was YOUNG and at his physical and talent peak, 2) carryover from his success with Jackson Five and his solo "Off the Wall" album (during the Carter administration). And his slow descent and recent death had NOTHING to do with 1) his increasing addiction to drugs & cosmetic surgery, 2) his ever-increasing strange behavior and legal woes. No, it was all due to what party occupied the White House. Darn it, if only McCain/Palin had won, we'd right now be watching Michael moonwalk his emaciated frame under his umbrella to another record setting album!

Rush isn't responsible for what he's saying. He's obviously completely distraught because he heard the FDA may ban Oxycontin.

Of course, what his excuse is for all the other insane crap he spews I don't know.

Will someone please tell this guy he is not important enough for any of us to care what he says.

His commentary is just lies and more lies based upon his fantasy of being powerful because he has had money all his life.

How about letting him live like the rest of us do, working real jobs for so many hours a day that we can't see our families, or get a better education, or even have time to get the better deals when paying our bills etc....

he is just a big blowhard that has no idea what the real American life is about.

It's amazing how no one on this board seems to "get it" regarding Rush's comment. The mantra of the left has always been that Reagan was bad for the country, Clinton was great, Bush 41/43 was worse, and Obama was the best.

The statement does not claim a causal relationship, but does show the timeline's coincident events. When Clinton was elected, Rush said on his show that I guess Barbra Streisand can now make that movie she always wanted to make since the shackles of Reagan/Bush had been lifted. His staff spoke up and corrected him, saying she had already done so (again, under Reagan when supposedly things were terrible for people in the arts).

I must admit that your fits of rage are amusing to read, though.

Oh, I get it, alien1...it's THE LIBERALS' fault if they can't get the "humor" in Boss Limbaugh's comment that it was "rugged individualistic coservatism" of Reagan that allowed MJ to succeed...right??

        Yeah, right.

Funny, but wasn't it conservatives who were the most opposed to MJ's success when he was making hits like Billie Jean??? Wasn't it the conservatives moaning and groaning the most about his MTV videos, the moonwalk, the crotch-grabbing...calling it the biggest threat to Western Christian civilization since....you know, Elvis' hips??

Oh, but in his death, he becomes so valuable in the War Against Obama, now doesn't he??

What's next, Boss....remaking O.J. Simpson into a Horatio Alger hero, in spite of his murderous spree?? After all, like MJ, OJ did thrive a great deal under conservative rule...and didn't fall from grace until those evil Clintons came to power....or so the myth goes.

Try again, Rush, when you have a genuine flash of your one working synapse.

I hope that Rush lost at least a dozen or so listeners over this twisted, illogical, nonsensical analogy, and then further down the line, I hope he looses other stuff. What a farce. The sad part is that Rush the Rushed influences people with his insanity.
