Now I am going to have to disagree with Rush here. Obama didn't lead...it was Harry Reid that led the call with "this war is lost...blah blah blah. Obama only followed.

Didn't McCain say something very similar at the time?

I disagree with both of you regarding any "defeat of the U.S. military".

What defeat is he talking about here? Has the US military been defeated? I thought only people who hate America and don't support our troops would ever even suggest that they had been or could be defeated?

Some US Military personnel did commit rape (they're only human; you're not a superhuman moral paragon just because you're in the military), and while I usually view anything that comes out of Rushy Boy's mouth as just one of the rings in the media circus, hearing anyone try to deny that fact and protect known rapists who will probably never be prosecuted makes me very upset.

Ok, while I vehemently oppose the war in Iraq, I support anyone that willingly puts their life at risk to defend our country. Many people in my own family have joined the military and served. That being said they are not infallible. I don't think that it takes a "superhuman moral paragon" to not rape somebody. If they did do it then that it is despicable and they should be prosocuted to the full extent of the law. I think there is a difference to honoring those that fight for us, to placeing these people above the law.

True, I used the "superhuman moral paragon" phrase because it seems that some people think that those in the military can do no wrong, and implying otherwise means you're against the troops.

How is President Obama claiming credit, based on the quote that Rush provided, this is what he said.

"Finally, the very fact that Iraqis are celebrating this day is a testament to the courage, the capability, and the commitment, of every single American who has served in Iraq."

I believe he is giving the credit to the Armed Forces and especially to our soldiers who are risking their lives every day.

What is Rush talking about? President Obama is giving all the credit to the military... how is he taking credit!

Wait how can the U.S. military be defeated? didnt we declare "mission accomplished" 5 or 6 years ago?

I never knew that removing troops from a combat zone consistuted defeat...

I guess in Rush world we lost WWI, WWII, the Spainish American War, the Mexican American War, and the Korean War because when the war was over we withdrew troops from the former combat zones....

wow I guess in Rush world the only war we ever won was the Revolution.

Look withdrawl doesnt mean defeat, withdrawal means we dont feel like forcfully taking over your country and your territory.
Retreat means defeat....Rush should learn the difference.

If you were walking down the street and some "Crazy Person" was standing on a corner yelling at the top of their lungs, would you stop and listen to their banter? Would you take time to blog about his rants?
This is how I view Rush...A complete lunatic who stands on the corner and screams out nonsense...Unfortunately people keep stopping to listen for some reason. Is it because of the big crowd of other "crazies" that are listening to his every word and live by his "dittos"? I'm not sure but this freak will never go away until we all realize he's just an overweight drug addict screaming on a corner.

I'd say more than a little, you lying idiot. You play sound bites where Obama is GIVING all the credit to the military.
