      He's half right - global warming exists (as does global cooling), but the global warming agenda is being pushed by big-government anti-capitalists.

        By those that have made it an "agenda". Overall, science is not an "agenda". The whole thing with the global cooling right now is outrageous, it's such a small part of the bigger picture that they're ignoring. They could make the same argument for evolution, but it doesn't negate the rest of the evidence.

        Dawuss, I hear these claims, but I'm not sure who these "big government anti-capitalists" are. Can you give a little more detail? Who are they, and how do they profit by anti-capitalism? Is this the part where I get nothing but that ethereal "Control" explanation?

      The people who push the global warming theories are scientistst!
      People who have dedicated their lives in truth in science.
      The data has been peer reviewed throughout the world... their findings are apolitical.

      You are acting like the left created Global Warming in some diabolical scheme. Global Warming is the result of science.

      Neal is quoting organizations of scientists that have been created with a political purpose. Just like you Neal, you have an agenda.

      I personally don't have an agenda. If the scientific community agrees that climate change / global warming is real and a danger to us all, I will believe them.

      The Science and Environmental Policy Project is an organization that was created in 1990 specifically to "debunk" global warning... they have an agenda and any scientific results from them are suspect.

      The right is always quick to criticize the Michael Moore's of the world who have an agenda... then put together a documentary with evidence to support that agenda...

      Well guess what... that book you are reading... is the Right's version of a Michael Moore documentary... enjoy the reading, I doubt there will be anything in that book that you will disagree with.

        But you know we shouldn't go around believing those scientists with their education and experience. Those elitists with their doctorates. Those ivory tower acedemics with their experiments and their data analysis. So what they've studied this kind of thing for decades. Who cares about the theories they've developed and the statistics that they use to back it up. Why should we listen to scientists talk about science when we can have economists and talk show hosts tell us about it. After all, they are the real experts.

          Sure, scubcap, those sciency guys sound all scientificky with their sciency science, but they're only fooling maybe half the country, tops.

          All the other half needs is a couple of regular Joes on the TV noticing that there's a Global Warming conference in December in the northern part of the states... and it's snowing!

          The science guys don't stand a chance with them.

        No, the thought of a liberal idea being successful is cancer to them. They'd rather cut it out and irradiate it on the spot rather than having a real doctor check to see if it really is a tumor.

      Nope... it's just an effort to save "capitalist economies" from their inherent destructive selves.

      Kinda like government regulations only purpose is to save the so-called free market from destroying itself.

      But then, for a simpleton like Neal Boortz, this seems to be to hard to understand...

      The current man-made global warming hysteria is largely driven by the environmentalist movement in an attempt to reshape western society away from capitalism by implementing state control (socialism) over private energy usage (Carbon Taxes, Cap and Trade). These environmentalists wish to get rid of the suburbs, SUVs, single family homes and return western society to a neo-urbanistic state of living. This is because the current environmentalist movement is filled with ex-communists and neo-socialists who have long ago abandoned science and replaced it with their politically motivated environmental "religion". Don't believe me? Go ask any "environmentalist" - socialism or capitalism? No, not all scientists even those who support man-made global warming theory seek these politically motivated intentions but their position has been distorted and exaggerated for political gain by extremists.

      800 pages of supposedly scientific facts rebutting global warming, and all he talks about is the communist, socialist, and big government supporters.

      One would have thought he would have used the "scientific facts" in the 800 page document and try and support his side.

      You know, Boortz saying that necessary environmental regulation is obviously an effort to destroy our economy reminds me a lot of a child who screams "I HATE YOU" when instructed to brush their teeth.

      Ok I love how he says "government schools" like that is a radically socialist ideal.

      And then he goes on to say that global warming is taught at schools and all of this stuff.
      A.) I have never been taught about global warming in school.
      and
      B.) Are these not the same people that are trying to get creationism taught in public schools?

      That report is by S. Fred Singer from the Science & Environmental Policy Project. (SEPP) His "Policy" group is heavily funded by Exxon-Mobil, Shell Oil and other oil companies along with funding from Rev. Sun Myung Moon. Imagine that! I am sure there is alot of real science coming from that funding! The fact that the VAST majority of independant scientists in the world agree-global warming is now and will be a severe issue for the world doesn't phase the right wing head in the sand fools.
