Remember, that is what they called the continental congress in 1776. Thomas Jefferson wrote that a government that lasts more than 20 years is overdue for a revolution. Looks like we are around 180+ years overdue. It is NOT treason to overthrow a corrupt government.

I know. How long ago was it that these same douchebags accused Liberals of "hating America" because we opposed invading Iraq?

I knew this was coming, though. I knew that their breathless devotion to the office of "Commander in Chief" in time of war would evaporate as soon as Obama took office. Not because I'm psychic or smart, but because they are and always have been profound hypocrites and liars.

It's shocking to see someone of Rush's stature turning his back on his country.
          Treason:
a crime that undermines the offender's government

Doesn't anyone else remember that during the times of our original government way back around 1776 when our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence they were all labeled as having committed high treason? Yet we all have gained because of their work and beliefs.

Not agreeing with what Limbaugh said but I do believe there are lots our current government is doing that is against the will of the people and that sometime soon we the people need to stand up against it to correct the problems. Does that mean war with help from foreigners, no. It just means that we need to work together to get our government where we want it to be.

Just because your beliefs were repudiated in the last election does not mean it is against the will of the people. I love that the right-wing is now so desperate they are trying to sell Limbaugh and Beck as the Continental Congress. It's classic. And you wonder why you have lost all your power and continue to lose election after election. Sore losers.

Well, gosh. Didn't the neocons go through all sorts of mental gymnastics to distance themselves from that leftist hippie, James Von Brunn? (He opened for CCR at Woodstock, right?)

Now Rush is begging for an armed insurrection against the U.S. Government?

Make up your mind, Mr. Limbaugh. Are your ditto-head listeners supposed to use their 2nd amendment rights to fight tyranny (e.g. assassinate the fairly-elected president of the United States of America) or are they just supposed to listen to your stupid radio show and buy cases of Gold Bond Powder and quack-approved "dietary supplements?"

Rush is not only the leader of the RepublicaNazi Party, he also owns it outright. He can get away with saying stuff like this because of the First Amendment, and because he has the FCC in his back pocket. It is just a shame that there are no laws on the books so that people like him could be prosecuted for inciting violence. Of course Rush, Beck and others who talk of coups, overthrows, et. could be prosecuted under the Aliens and Sedition Acts of 1798. These laws are still on the books.

no they're not. the alien enemies act is still on the books. the naturalization act, sedition act and alien friends act were all expired or repealed by 1802. jefferson also pardoned anyone who was convicted of these acts and congress repaid any/all fines imposed.

      PLEASE STOP YOUR WHINING!!!!

Limburger is only repeating the same kind of oppositionist rhetoric that leftists, liberals, and "Progressives" were shouting from the rooftops prior to the 2008 election.

I don't for moment believe that our creator intended for that privilege to only attain to Liberals, but to any principled, thinking citizen, and traditional conservatives, who've been largely abandoned and ridiculed by the Neo-Conservative element, definitely qualify as valid critics of our current and horribly wrong-headed national policies.

It was traditional conservatives who predicted that Obama's "change" would be nickles and dimes, and NOTHING contrasting wtih the existing Bush policies. AND if you could temporarily, at least, remove your liberal BIAS, you would see that where it comes to all the Bush attacks on Human Rights, and our own Consitution, not to mention our bellicose, warlike aspect towards Iran, Iraq (don't hear much about Obama's JOB ONE being removing our troops anymore DO YA?), Afghanistan and Russia, NONE of which pose us the kind of threat posed by NORTH KOREA, ITS ALL BUSINESS AS USUAL!!

With OBAMA'S continuation of the Bush Mid-East program, we simply don't have the military force available right now, to deal effectively with North Korea - Doesn't that warm your insides right up?????? With all these other nations that we're invading, not ONE of them started the hostilities. North Korea is actively planning as soon as they have the capability, to lob ICBM warheads directly at us, and they make NO BONES about it!

Our early Presidents, in particular, the Constitutionalists, Jefferson and Madison, strongly advocated ACTIVIST citizenry demanding constant accounting from our leaders, and transparency in our government at all times. Both Jefferson and Madison advocated ARMED INSURRECTION against the U.S. Government and its leaders, should the public ever reach the opinion that our government and leaders were becoming oppressive of public liberty. Our early traditionally conservative presidents believed that the people have the right and obligation to use arms to OVERTHROW the U.S. government if it fails to properly do the job for which we citizens have elected them.

What in the world should make Bush, or Obama exempt from being held to the exact same criteria of performance and results??

Whether Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, I believe this applies to all of us and we should heed it's warning.

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." Thomas Jefferson.

The Government should fear the people which it serves, the people should not be made to fear their government.

I am completely in agreeance with GOP exile, our fore-fathers wanted us to have the right to overthrow our government. Does that mean that we should? That's completely up to us. All I know is that I'm not happy with the state of our government and neither should most people. They're not doing a very adequate job of taking care of their people, which is what they were put into office to do. They worry too much about filling their pockets and keeping us in line. I'm not even saying all politicians are like this, but most are, and I'm done with it. I'm sick of obeying every little law they force on us, tired of seeing every camera they use to watch over us, done with the chemicals they put in our foods and our water supplies and then hearing that they're good for us, and I'm threw with sitting around and letting them do it to us. I'm not a violent person by any means, and I don't think we should take up arms and fight our government, but something needs to be done. And whether you are a liberal or conservative, democrat or republican, nazi or environmentalist or communist or whatever you may believe in, it doesn't matter, we are all still people and we deserve better than the so called "freedom" our government gives us. So whether Limbaugh is nut job or not (personally I don't care either way, I was never a big fan of him), we still need to stop bickering amongst ourselves and put all this aggression we have towards each other and put it in the direction of our government so that we can take part in creating a land we want ourselves and our loved ones to live in now and even 100 years from now.

... seems to me the point to be made is that the implication or innuendo that there is any basis whatsoever to the notion that the current government needs to be overthrown is abysmally absurd.

"our fore-fathers wanted us to have the right to overthrow our government" ... I have a sneeking suspicion that our forefather would admonish us to First, be full participants in our democratic processes > In A Constructive Way <.
Rush Limbaugh is full within his rights, presumably, to say or have said the things he says.
I am a firm believer, however, in the notion that Rush Limbaugh has not contributed one iota of constructive content to the national discourse, Ever.

I sorta agree with you, both are bad news. But Obama is keeping his promise of Change, but too few even thought about what that might mean, and Obama sure as hell never used socialist or fascist or collectivist as being part of his "Change". Some of us read between his lines, tho. Unfortunately it will take a huge puke to get rid of that, and that won't happen until the economic collapse has dropped us all into the abyss. Even then it will be horribly difficult.
