Jealous? Of someone who lost the vice presidency? Who demonstrated zero grasp of the issues, who lied about EVERYTHING from being able to see Russia from her house to "saying thanks but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere" to putting the state plane on eBay? Who quit the governorship of Alaska because she mismanaged the state so badly she can't fix it, quit as chairwoman of the state Oil and Gas Commission, who quit a campaign for lieutenant governor, who drove her city into debt while serving as mayor?

Seems to me she's said or done nothing for anyone to be jealous about.

These days alot of Americans are aware of how Republicans "dodge" ANY negative "FACT" about one of their own Republican Politician. These Republicans are pure "pros" when doing their "dodge-the-truth-dances" like no other politician in today's politics. The Republicans just got game like no other, and they are the best of the best with distracting from the obvious.

I.E., Gov. Palin "QUITS" Alaska, and she's the best Republican to do so said Ann Coulter. What? What about Gov. Palin's lame duck session in Alaska? According to Ann, the lame duck questions are just "hateful" questions coming from Liberal Haters because Gov. Palin's a Republican quitting her job. Hmmm.

My thought, too. Who on earth would feel a scintilla of jealously for Sarah Palin, of all people?

Oh, wait. There is one person. That would be Ann Coulter, who in her wildest fantasies will never approach the kind of popularity Ms Palin currently enjoys.

That came out during the campaign. I couldn't believe she could talk (preach might be a better word) about wasteful govt spending while she'd been bilking her state out of more than a hundred thousand dollars for "working at home." Isn't working at home it's own benefit? I work from home occassionally. Maybe I should be charging my company a little extra when I do that.

To compare people leaving an elected office to pursue higher office of public service by election or appointment, to a person who just quits the office she was elected to, is pure lunacy. But what else can you expect from people who make a living defending the indefensible?

I'm certain her staff members, people who made donations and the people that voted for her are proud of her loyalty!

Btw, I just found out I am a rabid sexist. Ann told me so.

I love how these commentators can attribut the twisted thoughts that rattle inside their heads to the American public and they seemingly get away with it by prefacing the statement with "Probably a large majority"

Other famous made up preambles are:
      "Many suspect..."
      "Some people have been saying..."
      "The overwhelming majority..."

Stop pretending to be an expert of public opinion, especially when you have wandered far, far from the pack!

People like Ann Coulter think all it takes to make liberal women jealous is looks. Why? Because that's all it takes to make conservative women jealous. Projection first, always. When you hear a conservative complain about someone, you can be sure that what they're complaining about is what they secretly hate most about themselves. It's as predictable as gravity.

I wonder why no one has asked Ann Coulter why she was in Little Rock Arkansas during the premier opening of the movie "W.", that very same night Anne Presley was murdered and why no one can't figure out that Ann's jaw was broken around the same time. She was documented by all the local stations as being in Little Rock the same time Anne Presley was attacked. Is the crime of vanity murders no longer a possibility?

More worthless commentary from Dawuss. Is that the best you can do, to say that she's not good looking?

First off, she is. She has a nice body and a symmetrical face that does not have any outsized features. That's pretty. It's undeniable. The science of what makes a woman pretty backs me up.

But you think that you'll throw in a comment that she's not good looking? Why?

Try harder. Really. Or just stop trying.

Maybe it's his opinion that women in New York don't have anything to be jealous of Palin over. That would be relevant to the thread.

If he had said that she isn't good-looking "by any standard" or that "I have no idea how anyone could find her attractive", that would be one thing. He didn't say that. He stated a personal opinion, as evidenced by "$0.02".

Dawuss, you would have to be a gay male or a bitter woman to not think Palin was hot. Your stupid comments are a prime example of how irrelevant websites like this can be because anyone can post anything even when they are patently false or go against the grain of common sense. Palin has perfect proportions. She has a perfect butt. She is sexy as hell. Now, if you want to attack her subjective qualities like her "intelligence" or her "style" or her "morals" or her "aptitude", there really isn't any genuine way of proving your liberal bias and false perceptions. However, to say something like "Palin isn't good looking" is like saying 1 + 1 doesn't equal too. A little latin for you: "res ipsa loquiter" because clearly, in this situation, the thing speaks for itself.

Attractiveness is entirely subjective. You've never had a conversation with anyone where they told you someone they thought was hot and you looked at them like they were nuts? It's personal preference, and he has a right to it.

Actually, no, beauty is not subjective. I have participated in studies that determine what makes someone good looking.

Saying that she doesn't appeal to your idea of what's attractive is one thing. Saying that she isn't good looking is a statement of fact. However, she is good looking.

On top of that, even if it was simply Dawuss's opinion, it's totally irrelevant to this discussion.

No, you can figure out what generally appeals to people's sense of aesthetics. You can also determine that an opinion is so widely held that it's not particularly controversial to express it. Neither of those things constitute a "fact". You're still relying on someone's reaction, which is subjective. If 99% of people believe someone is beautiful, you can say that it's widely accepted. You can't argue that the other 1% is beholden to agree with it. If it was actually objective, you could.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone say that they're putting in their two cents while simultaneously claiming to be presenting a fact. That phrase pretty clearly suggests an opinion. And if you watch the clip, you'll notice that Coulter talks about women being jealous of Palin because their boyfriends say she's good-looking. Obviously the opinion that she is not good-looking is relevant to that.

Not to delve too deeply into posterior proportionality, but that's an excellent example of subjectivity. Magazines may say that "flat butts are the thing", while someone else may say "I like 'em round and BIG".

I agree. She's attractive on a rather pedestrian level, but she isn't SuperModel good looking. I would describe her as a "handsome" woman as opposed to "hot", like Megan Fox or Robin Wright Penn or Evan Rachel Wood.

But, like Brabantio says, it's all subjective.

In any case, she isn't good looking enough to inspire jealous rage among Liberal Women. That's just Ann Coulter trying to stir things up, which is what she's paid for.

Well, actually, this site is designed for folks to give their opinions, so it would naturally follow that comments would be made regarding Coulter's comments. Doesn't mean that anyone here is "stirred" up. Personally, I don't understand how anyone can listen to that sputtering, spitting bag of bones. I think that SHE is the one who is jealous.

As self-elected spokeswoman for all liberal women in California, I can safely say that while some of us may wish we had her pretty smile, we are never jealous of ignorance. Why people can't just come out and admit the empress has no clothes (other than the nice ones paid for by RNC) is because she's bankable I guess. Fundraiser cash magnet ready to launch. But she's NOT SMART ENOUGH to be in high office, gosh darn it.

One day when the only job Coulter can find is "Tea-bag Party Organizer" in Alaska, she'll regret not having taken out the Palin dagger (like so much of the Republican leadership have done).
Best odds are that Sarah becomes the the official face of Fog News and thereby the number two voice in Republican media. She is a meister-teleprompter-reader after all and she's probably a fine "gotcha" journalist ("Can I call ya Joe?"). And think about, she'll never have be interviewed without knowing the questions in advance.
Coulter's appearance fees will wither. So too will her ability to drill down the IQ's of her fans.
And as long as no one tells her the governorship of Alaska is open in 17 months, my prediction just might come true.

What is interesting about Hannity's remarks about Sibelius, Napolitano, Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel is that these people are still on the government payroll working for us. It's not like they quit. Palin quit. Palin wasn't asked by the POTUS to work for him. Palin flat out quit. This is something Hannity is just not getting.

why would ANY woman, let alone human being, in their right mind be jealous of sarah palin? of what? the way she talks like george bush or her attempt of bunching of words together that she doesnt understand to try and sound smart?

that is as straw man of an argument as claiming that keith olbermann would attack bill o'reilly/fox because he is jealous of their high ratings.

the best arguments conservatives can come up with is popularity and who is more in the spotlight, which is why they use it so much. they will do anything to be famous.

mann coulter should know... she will do anything to be in the spotlight, even if she has to act crazy, and she does a great job of it. kudos to the dead corpse.

why would ANY woman, let alone human being, in their right mind be jealous of sarah palin?

You're missing something here, NCLAF.And that's not an insult, but a compliment.

The fact that you can't imagine anybody being jealous of Palin is probably a pretty good indication that you're above-average in at least some ways. Palin was specifically chosen to rally up a very below-average element of the GOP base.

Believe me, I had the same reaction as many to her when she was first paraded out onto the national political stage. Sort of a jaw-dropping "you gotta be stinkin' kidding me" in my head. It was only because I live in a largely conservative area of the country, and was able to hear a lot of first-hand "regular folks" admiration for this joke, that I got some insight into her appeal.

The more phony, shallow and (sorry, can't come up with a more polite word) simple-minded the person, the more they loved Sarah. She's average, and that makes her somebody the below-average can look up to, but not be too threatened by.

Ann Coulter's below-average audience doesn't have any trouble imagining that dislike of Palin is due to jealousy.

Question: does any other news network give Coulter the kind of platform that FOXnews does? I know she makes the occasional appearance on the broadcast nets to promote a book from time to time. But I just don't understand her relevance to our society and why she deserves to have such a high profile on a "news channel."

I think the answer to that is simple. Ann Coulter was a major player in setting up the perjury trap for Bill Clinton, which subsequently led to his impeachment. As a reward, Ann is guaranteed a certain number of "Bestsellers" and gets to appear regularly on Wingnut Talk shows.

It's pretty much the same reason that we get to endure idiotic attempts at punditry from Jonah Goldberg... his mommy also helped set up Clinton.

The Cottage Industry the Wingnuts constructed in their attempts to destroy Clinton lives on, and is now hysterically yapping at the heels of Obama.

Absolutely. There's some "different standard" because Obama campaigned for President and wasn't in the Senate all the time? That's the same for anyone that's campaigning. Palin could have finished out her term and spent two years afterwards running for higher office.

It's just remarkable to me how far these people will go to spin anything and everything. As if the argument of "what's wrong with quitting?" would be able to gain a foothold in the dialogue if we were talking about a Democrat. It's completely laughable.

Yes, people did criticize Jeffords and Spector for changing parties and the wingnuts criticized both Sebelius and Napolitano for being Democrats, but the difference with those women and Mrs. Palin is that they resigned to take up jobs offered to them. Sarah just quit in the middle of her term to go fishing. There is a difference. And I am a Liberal woman, I don't begrudge Mrs. Palin her figure, I wouldn't mind having it, but I am not jealous that she does and she can keep her beloved, red, Naughty Monkey pumps, the thought makes my feet hurt. This clip shows exactly why the republicans are in the shape they are in politically. They are out of touch with most Americans and wouldn't know the truth if it took the shape of a 2,000lb. anvil and fell on top of their heads. The one thing I noticed about the conversation between Coulter and Hannity is that although they could mention Obama campaigning and not working for the citizens of Illinois, there was not one word said about McCain campaigning at the same time and neglecting the citizens of Arizona. This is hypocrisy on display.
I am also a woman and SP is physically attractive, but I find her to be one of the ugliest women in politics or anywhere else because of her lies and willingness to do anything to advance her career without meeting the necessary requirements. When I see and hear Palin it makes me think of something Judge Judy said to a young woman appearing before her: beauty fades, but dumb is forever. This is the true source of Palin's ugliness.

When Hanniity says no one criticized Sebelius or Napolitano when they left their posts for positions in President Obama's administration, he neglects to point out that Sarah Palin resigned to go nowhere...I guess to quit your commitment to the residents of your state for some higher calling to be named later shows some type of commitment. If she can't stand the heat of being governor of Florida, do people really think she can handle a more challenging political office -- let alone president of the United States.
