So I guess this makes Scheuer a Bin Laden-approved talking head? He certainly seems anxious to support Osama's desire to destroy the US.

      Charming.

"Just more proof that Conservatism = Terrorism."

I am centeral Conservative I don't believe that at all. Extreme Right Wing Conservatism maybe not Conservatism on its own. It's the rubbish Lib's complain about when a Conservative says Liberalism = Terrorism is just not true.

and most are just poorly educated on domestic and foreign issues.
They don't ask questions about the issues, just listen to the talking heads about them.

This sadly is true on both sides of the party fence.

You, as most others who post on this site, are driven solely by ideology and can't come to a reasonable conclusion without personal attacks on those with whom you disagree. Honest debate and conversation is dead in this country. I will not defend the labels and attacks hurled against the left who opposed the war. Neither will I defend ignorant attacks against anyone who opposes the Obama administration and the inaction of Congress to do what it takes to secure our borders. Oh, by the way, only those who can't come up with intelligent responses resort to name calling, such as calling someone "stupid." I'd love to get into a war of wits with you Harley, but you've obviously come to the fight unarmed.

I am defending it. Defended it in my first post, but you're too interested in launching an attack on me than to actually read and consider what I posted. In fact, almost every single post on this web site is a personal attack of some sort. No serious discussion of anything. Explain how we can secure the border and spend less money doing it?

It never ceases to amaze me that those on the right can excuse or explain away a statement like this but are dead sure that Kerry said our troops are "terrorists", Michelle Obama is not proud of her country or that President Obama stated that America is a Muslim nation.

"The guy wasn't calling for an attack, he was making a point that people won't stand up and do something about the border issue unless something like this happens."

Did you not listen or read the transcript of his words...

"...the only chance we have as a country right now is for OBL to deploy and detonate a major weapon inside the USA..."

I don't know about you kydem09 (I presume your screen name indicates your from Kentucky?) but if a Democrat, liberal or progressive had said this needed to happen to Louisville, Kentucky (or wherever your from) in order for Kentucky to be saved... I think you would be demanding that liberal go to jail for a very long time.

Whether your correct that these two twits do not actually want to see America attacked is quite irrelevant... it is the idea that he could say it and Beck sat there nodding in agreement knowing full well the implication of what an attack like that would do to this country.

Especially after the last eight years this country is teetering on a very fine edge thanks to the right-wing neanderthals who ran DC using fear tactics against us all!

I wonder if kydem remembers how conservatives reacted whenever a Democrat said that we were losing the Iraq War? The phrases "hates America" and "doesn't support the troops" come to mind.

I think it's safe to say that there are a certain number of Republican Troglodytes who secretly long for some kind of terrorist attack, knowing that their bedwetting base would stampede to the polls and elect another G.W. Bush in 2012.

You really need to come up with a new word. Your incessant use of the word troglodyte is tiresome.

As far as I'm concerned, we don't need an attack for a Republican to be elected in 2012. All the current administration needs to do is continue on the destructive spending spree they're engaging in right now. Have you seen some of the polls coming out? Obama's approval rating has dropped significantly in the middle of the country in the past 2 months.

Yep, only in office for 6 months and he's already committed the government to spending more money than all other presidents combined. Yeah, George Bush left a mess. But Obama was in the Senate and was part of the problem. He voted with Bush on all the spending and now wants to wash his hands of the mess. I'd rather have sky high unemployment than to put this country into the massive debt we're incurring. Obama is bankrupting this country. Haven't you seen what's going on in California? It's a preview of what's to come for the country as a whole. Go ahead and stick your head back in the sand, but the polls are behind me on this one. People want the President to focus solely on the economy and are extremely concerned about deficit spending.

I would still rather have the unemployment. There are a lot of people who would. I've been unemployed before and I made it through just fine. I didn't apply for government assistance to do it and didn't borrow money from anyone. Besides, many of the unemployed simply don't want to work because they believe that flipping burgers is beneath them. How do I know this, because unemployment in my state is over 10% yet I still see lots of help wanted signs at unclassy establishments like McDonald's and Walmart. As to the health care system, I will be honest enough to admit I don't know the answer to fixing it. But I do know that what Obama is proposing is way to expensive, at least at this time. And if calling you on your vitriolic posts and ridiculous name calling is whining, then I gladly whine. The term doesn't bother me. So fire away.

And your anecdotal BS is... well, BS. 'Many' this and 'many' that. Oh, your generalities are just so spot on!

Good for you to admit that you have no idea on how to fix health care but for you to slam Obama without presenting any alternatives is not to bright. So perhaps you need to educate yourself on the issue before concluding that Obama's plan is wrong. I can assure you he knows much more about the issue than you. And me for that matter.

Please cite the polls that back you up! You bring up California , ummm many problems there but you surely can't be seperating that from the US economy as a whole which was destroyed by Bush, and the governor is a Republican. You conservstives have never been for less spending. Every Republican president from Reagan on ran the biggest surpluses of any president in their respective times. Reagan raised taxes 3x during his presidency, payroll,SSI,then used tricky bookkeeping and illegal arm and drug sales to fund his dirty wars in Latin America. Reagan spent like prostitute that just hit the lotto, sold arms to our enemy, deregulated the Savings and Loan industry which led to the Collaspe and bailout of the industustry to the tune of $500 billion dollars. Reagan ran up the deficits to bankrupt the government, which in essence would force the government to shut down programs for the people. Programs conservstives have ideologicly been against. The Department of Education,Social Security, FDA, unemployment insurance(remember that's when the federal tax on Umemployment checks started)aid to families with dependent children, unions, and civil rights enforcement(Clarence Thomas was head of the Civil Rights Divsion of the Justice Department). These departmetns and programs have seen sharp declines in their staff and finances while the budgets of everything Republican like e.g., the defense indusrty and the prision building program to the prison population has seen an increase. Were spending more on the military industrial complex vampire(the Iraq war saw the largest privatization of any war Blackwater,Halliburton,KBS,more private contractors than US soldiers)talk about welfare. Conservatives always spend, Cheny told us that deficits didn't matter and no one said a word as the middle class was again robbed this time by GWBush as he took a record surplus they created and gave it right back to their buddies in the top 2%. Wages and living standards struggled to keep pacewith the increase in the standard of living. The outright looting of our public conffeurs by Bush/Cheney and friends, borrowing and more fancy bookkeeping to fund war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Iraq with potential oil reserves greater than that of Saudi Arabia, follow the money and lets watch who gets those oil contracts and how much there for then try to explain to me that it wasn't a war for oil!?! Republicans/conservatives have always spent so don't give me this BS about how Obama is bankrupting America by spending to resolve a mess created by Republican polices and spending. We need to insure the uninsured. We need to give a tax-break to the 95% of the people who have seen their wages stagnate the last 10yrs. We need to fix our infrastructure and invest in our childrens future with greater access to higher education the journey of which begins in pre-school and kindergarten programs. We need to reinforce and build our infrastructure and improve public transportation(all of which provide jobs and lower our consumption of energy). I'am tired of hearing you conservatives whinning about something your policies created so that you can rob programs for the people while banks and corporate owners reap bonuses. Your philosophy boils down to Robin Hood in reverse and you'll continue to find ways to justify your robbery no matter what the situation. We've waited long enough for these things. It's we who always sacrifice(you can take your rather have sky high unemployment comment you insensitive B@s#$%#! and shove it)only to be told not now! The time is now, now watch us fly! Your a bunch of hypocrites.

and he's already committed the government to spending more money than all other presidents combined.
I'm sure you have a cite for that, or perhaps the statement has stains on it that came from the orifice you pulled it from.

Much of the "increased spending" the trogs whine about comes from the fact that Obama put back into the budget the cost of the iraq war which Dumbya tried to hide for so many years. It's called "transparency," which is anathema to the trogs who prefer their government opaque, as Dick Cheney wanted it, so he could hide his war profiteering behind it.

Here's the text of an article on the HP:

President Barack Obama's approval rating in Ohio has fallen rapidly in the past months.

Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,259 voters in Ohio from June 26 to July 7. The poll found that 49% of voters disapprove of the job Obama is doing, while 44% approve.

That is 13 points down from May, when a separate Quinnipiac poll found a 62% approval rating and a 31% disapproval rating.

The most recent Quinnipiac poll also surveyed voters on Obama's handling of the economy, finding 48% disapproval and 46% approval. In May, Obama received a 57% approval rating on the economy.

Well, goody for them. If the Ohio voters who are turning against Obama because the jobs aren't coming fast enough or whatever want vote Republican in 2010 and 2012 then they deserve to get screwed. Are they that stupid to think that another Republican can do better, especially after eight years of Bush?

I'm an American and this man essentially called for an attack in order for him and Beck to get THEIR country back. Sorry, but it's my country, too, and I don't want our country to EVER be attacked again.

If he wasn't calling for Bin Laden to attack the country, then he was saying the country will fail. Either way this guy should be put way in a mental hospital.

And to think this guy was working for CIA, makes me shudder.

This guy apparently sees himself as Jack Bauer. Judging from an article he wrote back in April, he buys into the "ticking time bomb" fantasy. He proposed a scenario in which Osama Bin Laden has been captured, and refuses to tell his captors when a nuclear weapon is going to detonate in the U.S. because Obama won't allow him to be waterboarded.

If this is the kind of ignorant douchebag that was in charge of the "Bin Laden Unit" of the CIA, no wonder we never caught him.

From my research, nerzog, the CIA is being disingenuous about it's ability to catch Bin Laden. The reason I say this is because he was trained by the CIA, and provided with intel, weapons, and funding when he was fighting the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. They definitely are familiar with his habits and practices. I suppose it's possible they just don't want to offend the Saudi royal family.

The now-disbanded Project for a New American Century's Manifesto called for an American Empire, and recognized the American People wouldn't go for that "absent a Pearl Harbor-like event." Well, we had that on 9/11, courtesy of the CIA-enabled bin Laden, and one of them, I've forgotten which one, crowed that "now we can do what we've been wanting to do. Coincidence? Dunno. BTW, Manifesto has recently been taken off line.

Yeah, rightwingers, we get to call these idiots names just like you get to do.
By the way, how do you spin Scheur's comment? I'm calling it what it is: SEDITION.
You can't explain it except for what it is:
      He's an OBL SUPPORTER.
If you see it any other way, you are supporting this idiot's assumption that we need to be attacked to be safe.
I'm tired of hearing the right demonize anybody who's not in lockstep with them, tired of hearing about "real americans".

I watched this story as it happened on line. It is still available on Glenn Beck's site:

      http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video08.html?maven_referralObject=6430744&maven_referralPlaylistId=&sRevUrl=http://www.foxnews.com/glennbeck/

This is what Glenn had to say in the middle of the segment, "I think we are headed for extraordinarily dangerous times. I think we are headed for civil unrest...God knows what! Please, America, Please, please keep things under control and look at Martin Luther King and Gandhi as an example" They go on to discuss how the government is run by Harvard educated elites who only value their jobs and are out of touch with the majority of Americans who just want to get by. This is yet another of Glenn's passive aggressive tactic of advocating revolt against the government while claiming to be against it. Really, this remark comes at the end and is the least dangerous of the points being made. I found the whole nearly 8 minute segment to be seditious and treasonous. And I was really quite glad to see the spit hit the fan on other shows. Thank you Keith!
